Deciding on booking a 1br or two studios. Are the sleeper sofa's bad?

From what I have read here on the boards, most of the villas have replaced the older sofas with newer, more comfy sofa beds. When we were at OKW in March we had one of the old sofas. It won't matter to us on our next trip since we are getting a 2 br.

The new sofa beds are very good! They have a full mattress, not the fold out with the bar kind. The only negetive thing, is that they are difficult to put away with the bedclothes still on the bed.

Very comfy if you get the new model--I hope they replace all of the sofa beds in all the resorts with them eventually.

Our 1 bedroom at BWV a couple weeks ago had the new model in the living room. I didn't try it because I was afraid I wouldn't get it back in!

The "new" designed sofa sleeper are (IMO) not quite as comfortable as a "real" bed, but they are a vast improvement over the more traditional version. They are quite firm, and no bar in the middle of your back :) They are difficult to fold away "made up", I think I will bring a fitted queen sheet next time and try that. I thik they are a little heavier to fold and unfold, but well worth the extra effort.

If having the larger room of a 1 bedroom unit and the jacuzzi tub, along with the kitchen are imoprtant to you, the newer sofa should be fine.

We had the new one at OKW 2 wknds ago and they're so much better now than the old ones - as others have stated, not quite as good as a real bed but HUGE improvement. Enough that I wouldn't give it a 2nd thought anymore ;)

I wouldn't want to sleep on the old models...but the new ones are great!

We didn't have any problems folding it back up (every morning)...though I do agree that it's a bit heavier.

If you like something a little more soft, request an egg crate pad to go on top of the mattress.

We were at OKW 12/4-12/10 and had one of the old sleepers. My back still hurts!

I hope the new ones are not the same as the one in our unit at SSR. We never used it for sleeping but it was hell trying to get up from sitting on it. It would sink when sitting on it. Kind of like sitting in a hole. Maybe something was missing from it.

We were at OKW, in a 2BR, in March. DH and I slept on the sleeper sofa all week, and had no problems at all. It wasn't the most comfortable bed ever, but posed no issues. We both were comfortable enough to sleep well.

We had a 1 bedroom at OKW in November and they had the newer sleeper mattress. Big improvement over the old ones with the bar digging in your back all night. We were in bldg 62.

We had that same problem at SSR, but the ones at OKW seem to have an opposite issue. They seem to spring up, and not sink in at all!

of the new sofa beds?

Someone posted a pic of the "style" of them a while ago (like a Jennifer sofa bed model), but I've yet to see one of them at OKW.

If you have a pic, please post:)

I don't have a picture, but we just returned from a 1 bedroom with the new sofa (Rm 1425) It had the original pink plaid loveseat. The "new" sofa is also plaid, but more blue/green tones. They have 2 removable back cushions and 2 seat cushions, whereas the original sofa style had 3 cushions.

They aren't the most comfortable for "sitting" (use the loveseat), but they're a LOT better to sleep on than the old ones.

I've slept on the new sofas at OKW and the ones at SSR. I have no complaints about either - I got a good nights sleep on both abd they were both more comfortable than the one we have at home. The ones at SSR were different than I have seen before. They folded out in a kind of fan-fold fashion (for those familiar with older printer technologies) and had a segmented hard (or should I just say "firm") foam mattress. It reminded me more of a futon than a hide-a-bed, but it really made very little differnce in the comfort I experienced.
