How Bad are the Crowds during Memorial Day Holiday?

Can anyone say just how crowded the parks, and DVC resorts are during Memorial Day weekend? Thanks for any info!

I was only there once for Memorial Day weekend, and it wasn't the crowds, but the heat that sticks out.

3 years ago, we spent the week before Memorial day at WDW (switched to BCV, studio at 7 months) and the weekend at Vero Beach. That was lovely.

I hope your experience is like that last one!

Trying to plan that land part to my 3 nite cruise for May 2009! Thanks for your info, wasn't sure if I should do 4 days before the cruise (holiday weekend) or 4 days after cruise (beginning of June). Thanks for your help!

Oh, yes, I "forgot" who I was "talking" to! In '09, we're going to BCV for the week before Memorial Day...then we go on the cruise for the Memorial Weekend. DH "gets" the Friday before Memorial Day as a holiday, so we pick going that week because it uses 1 less vacation day for him.

I was there in MD 2006. It was really hot to the point I though my shoes where melting, but, I was 7 months pregnant then and my feet were swollen, so maybe that is not of help to you.
Now on the crows, in my opinion there were more people than on thanksgiving weekend, which we did on 05. I was at the park either very early in the morning or in the late afternoon, so I imagine that during midday hours the amount of people was worst. We spent most of our afternoons on the pool of BWV, which was packed. They were handing bracelets to make sure no one else but those staying at the hotel were in the premises, and still there was not a chair to be found.
We stayed for the entire week, not only the weekend, and I think many schools in florida end classes around that time, so maybe that was the reason of the extra packed park. Probably the week before MD is quieter, but the weekend itself - lots of people.

Maribel, I had to double-check to make sure I wasn't the poster! I was there in 06, pregnant as well, although only five months along! I agree that it was amazingly crowded. We were just there Memorial Day weekend, so I can't speak to the week before or after.

We were there last yr. the week before Memorial Day and left sunday.I don't remember the crowds being really bad during the week or even to bad on Sat. but it was pretty warm.

We always go the weekend after Memorial Day - crowds have been consistently okay. We've even done Gay Day MK on the designated day and found it to be just fine in terms of crowds.

As for the heat - I think it's nice. I've even usually feel like I wanted a light sweater at night/early morning. Late May/Early June it's still nice in the early morning and late evening.
