How are your feet after a day at Disney?

bodyglide bodyglide bodyglide. :thumbsup2 That and a great pair of Merrells or something similar.

I have flat feet.
For me, Crocs work best & I take 2 different pair, alternating at mid day (we go back to the room for a couple of hours after lunch).
With the Crocs it is much better, but I am older, overweight so still my feet throb.
With my more pricey running shoes I would feel like I was hobbling on stumps after about 5 hrs!

Disney could clean up if it placed foot massaging kiosks in each of the parks & resorts! :rotfl:
I'm serious! I would be right there paying exhorbitant Disney prices & praising the skies for the 'privelege'! :woohoo:

I also would give my eye teeth to be able to sit on a bench to wait for the bus at the end of a day at the parks!

My feet and legs do not hurt at all anymore with these sandals:
Merrell flip flops
Croc flip flops
Mephisto Sydel

I have a few foot problems, plantar fasciitis and I have a thinning of the fat pads on the bottom, due to diabetes are the worst of them. The only way I make it through a day at the parks is with Merrell lace ups and two layers of thin socks. When we are done at the parks, I immediately switch out to crocs or Merrell flip flops.

Running shoes don't do it for me, Merrells have much more support, and wearing sandals (or no socks) during the day will literally strip the skin from my feet and leave them raw. :headache: I still have to take a percocet most of the time after the parks, due to pain though.

My doctor just confirmed that I too have plantar fasciitis..... First experienced while at WDW in December. My doctor said that some people describe that it feels like knives are being driven into your heel....Ding, ding, ding, she nailed it on the head. That is exactly what it feels like. When it gets bad, I just hobble along. Whatareyagonnado?

Terrible. They hurt so bad, I have to literally stand on one foot at a time in the lines to give the other foot a temporary break.

Nothing helps. When I get back to the room, I soak them in the tub and then massage them with lotion for an hour. And they still hurt.

Maybe Disney has extra hard ground?;)

Does anyone have ankles that swell only while at WDW? I don't know if it's the excessive walking in the summer heat, or what, but I've had that problem a couple of times. On my next trip, I'm icing my ankles when I can as a preventive measure.

I also have plantar fasciitis, and since I started wearing crocs I have not had a flare-up. My feet are sore at the end of a WDW day, but it's a "normal" sore and not a PF kind of sore.

I have always had foot issues at WDW. Not any more. Last time we were there I bought a pair of Disney Crocs. You should know I do not work for them. I have never, ever had such a good experience with shoes, sneakers, sandals as I have with Crocs. They are a miracle shoe. My heel never swelled and hurt. I was actually the one who went out after we got home from a day at the parks to refill the mugs at the resort! I rewore my Crocs the next day and every day after that (I like to wear with socks). You really owe it to yourself to try these shoes out -- you won't regret it!

you wre probably consuming more salt and less potassium than is in your normal diet. Try watching the salt and see if that helps.

Yes, there are times when I'm sore after a long day in the parks. Can you imagine of everybody who was sore like this was to get a scooter?

Since I lost more than 60 lbs, my feet hurt a lot less than they used to. Used to be unbearable. I wear proper shoes now, work out regularly, and can do 5 days in a row of power-walking through WDW with nary a bark from the ol' dogs.

Also, a tip I picked up from the Dis boards, freeze some bottled water. When you get back, roll your foot back and forth over it (that advice came from an orthopedic specialist).

OMG, I wish I'd heard about this tip sooner! It sounds so simple, and you'd think with the horrific plantar fasciitis I've had for about a year, that idea would've occurred to me, but no. I'm totally excited to try it now!!

Thanks for the tip!

I have to agree w/the crocks... I finally bought a pair and love them. Last month I wore my tennis shoes I wear everyday and at the end of the day:headache: my feet hurt so bad!!! The next day I wore my crocks..and that is all I'd wear after that. My feet did not hurt at all w/them after a day in the parks! It took forever to finally break down and buy them too... I found a pair at Dicks sporting goods that were more narrow than the typical ones you see...so I like them much better ;) I'll have to tell my dh about the bottled water trick ;) he'll like that one!

Thanks! I never thought of this. I rarely, if ever, use table salt at home. At WDW we're eating out all of the time and that's bound to increase sodium intake. I'm not sure if that's why I had this problem, but it does make sense. The funny thing is that WDW is the only place where I've had my ankles swell. :confused3

Buy the most expensive pair of sneakers you can afford - name brand and soak your feet in the hot tub every night at the hotel
