How Are The Newly Weds Today? An Italian Wedding & Disneymoon Extravaganza! *UpDate*

Melanie, one of the CL team sat down and went through our itinerary with us and also to see if there was anything we were interested in doing, like the spa etc. We chatted a bit about the wedding, honeymoon and how we loved going to Disney and that Stitch was our favourite character etc. She left the table at that point and came back with these

How cool are these and apparently DCL is the only place you can get them.

After we were officially checked in and acquainted with the team we headed off in search of our room, which turned out to be literally right opposite the lounge :teeth:

We decided to check out the spa quickly as the Navigator was showing an Embarkation Day Special. We booked ourselves in for later that afternoon, then we set off for the muster drill. We were lucky enough to have ours inside in the theatre, others less fortunate had to stand on deck, they must have been melting away :-(

We decided to skip the Sail Away Party and went back to the room to sit on the balcony. Was quite peaceful watching the harbour go by.

I heard people going "woah look at that" and "there are loads of them" I looked down to see what everyone was talking about and gasped, there in the water was tons and tons of jellyfish, clusters of them! :scared1: You can't see it v well in the pics, but there were loads of them!

Our spa time was nearing so we got ready and headed down. We had a back, neck and shoulder massage, with foot massage and it was heavenly, just what was needed. Defo want to do the spa villa on a sea day for our next cruise, as I can imagine that being pure heaven and very relaxing to sit there in the hot tub, champagne in hand watching the waves roll by :cloud9:

After the spa we went back to our cabin and got ready for dinner, tonight we were going to try Palo and we were both very excited as we had heard nothing but praise for this restaurant, esp the chocolate souffle.

I love this light fitting, murano glass made to look like the different types of pasta

aec53e51.jpg

We ordered a cocktail to start, mine was Le Grand Bleu - Grey Goose Vodka, Grand Marnier, Blue Curacao Liqueur, Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice, Taittinger Champagne

87f61f07.jpg

Dave's was Pomegranate Passion - Pomegranate Passion Liqueur, Passion Fruit Sorbet, Taittinger Champagne

df6cf3df.jpg

Mine was quite bitter and I wasn't keen, so Dave (gentleman that he is) kindly swapped with me. His one was delicious, I only put off ordering it because it had pomegranate in, but the passion fruit overpowers it and makes for a sweet yummy cocktail, esp with the champagne.

Starters was a mixture of anti pasti which our server made up for us

We also ordered scallops (can't find the descrip) and Dave had a small plate of a mixture of different starters on the menu to try. One of them being a Portobello mushroom which he absolutely loved.

Our main was a no brainer, had to be the beef tenderloin, although looking at the picture it looks like a fillet mignon. This was delish and very tender.

We also ordered the braised beef ravioli, which was delish but after all that food we couldn't finish it. I love cruising, so much yummy food to eat :teeth:

Halfway through the meal we had already ordered our chocolate souffles and before we could admire and take in the aroma our server got to bashing away to fill with cream

A limoncello and prosecco aparatif which tasted divine! So having a few more of those next year :teeth:

Dinner over and bellies full we made our way back to our cabin, stopping along the way to take in the evening sights. The movie on the big screen was Beauty and the Beast and we stayed a little longer to watch some of it before hitting the hay.

Am gonna leave it there for now, next up Day 2 on Nassau

Nice to see you Stefy! Congrats on your new house and kittens (I think?) Life can be quite hectic sometimes!

Thanks :) Life can be so hectic, I've found that our social life out here has also increased and we literally don't have a moment to ourselves at times.

Hope you are well :goodvibes

SHE'S BACK!!!!:cool1: Loving the update!!! Hope everything is going well over there across the pond! Can't wait for the next installment!!!

Congrats on everything!

Can't wait to hear more about the boat. I've been on a few cruises and not in a hurry for another one, but Joyce hasn't, so maybe a Dis-cruise would be the way to go :-)

Hi Stefy and Dave! I am officially caught up and LOVING your report. Chances are slim I'll ever get to cruise with Disney so I'm totally living vicariously through yours ;)

New house and new kitties..... congratulations!!

Hi Stefy!

So pleased you are continuing with your TR :goodvibes - hope all is well with you & Dave.

Hi Stefy!
Glad to see you back and posting your cruise pics. You posted them the exact day we left for our Florida vacation this year, so I am pretty late in commenting. ;)
Looks like you had a really fun first day on board. Hope to hear more!

Thanks :) DCL is amazing I don't think any other cruise line can compare in my opinion. You guys defo should try one, like us you could go for a 3 nighter just to test the waters, so to speak :)

Hey Karin hope you guys had a fab time, will have to catch up and see what adventures you got up to :)

Friday September 16th
Today was our first port adventure in Nassau. We woke up early as we still weren't adjusted properly time wise, so got ready and headed into the lounge to see what was on offer for breakfast.

file.jpg

After a quick breakfast we decided to check out the concierge deck to see what it was like.

file-8.jpg

Is quite nice up there and peaceful. Can defo see us spending more time there next time.

We still weren't near to Nassau as of yet so we went exploring outside a bit more taking pics along the way.

We were slowly pulling into port so we thought we would go to the front and see our first ever Caribbean island. Only prob was it was so windy I could't breathe, they have these screens you can stand behind to check out the view, but man it was so windy. I had to leave Dave to it and step back.

Today we were going to meet and play with some sealions. I apologise, but I can't remember the names of our two, but we met two girls who were both gorgeous and friendly and very playful.

We sat through orientation and then proceeded down to see the sealions. We each got a photo op standing next to one of the girls and then got into the water to learn some more about them and have another photo taken with the other one.

I have a two magnets of our meet and also one photo. Will try and get a pic of the magnet ones up when I can. In the mean time here is a photo of one of our encounters.

file-79.jpg

We were free to stay around the island and explore and use the beach, but we ended up getting our photos, a quick ice cream and then headed back to wait for the next boat.

Once back in Naussau we made our way through the market to get back to the boat. The lounge was serving lunch appetisers and we sat down and enjoyed a glass of wine and food on the deck for a little while.

Also waiting for us was a little gift/reminder of our excursions for the next day.

file-51.jpg

file-50.jpg

So cute isn't it, we bought it back with us and hopefully I can find somewhere (away from my little tearing terrors to put it).

Dinner tonight was at Royal Palace, but unfortunately had to be cut short due to me being so tired. For some reason on the cruise I was absolutely knackered out by the end of the day and could hardly stay awake (as you'll see in one the pics coming up). I think it was a combination of still adjusting to the time zone, being so relaxed on this cruise and also I think as the wedding was done I didn't have so much to stress about/organise etc. Anywho back to the report.

I can't remember what we had exactly, but I do remember ordering a non alcoholic slushy type drink which was divine and deliciously fruity.

We didn't make dessert as I just couldn't stay awake, so we headed back to the room to sit on the balcony to watch the fireworks and also to see if a certain someone was going to be around.

Way back when we had our intro meeting in the CL lounge we mentioned to Melanie that we were huge fans of Stitch to which she made a note of. Later on that day Thomas and Julia said that they had heard that a certain someone was going to come up to the lounge to congratulate the newly weds :rolleyes1 So off we went to the lounge to go and see if this certain someone had turned up and look and see who was waiting for us

file-76.jpg

Pirate Stitchy!!! Our lovely CL team had wonderfully arranged for Pirate Stitch to come and say hello and congratulate us on our marriage. We were so chuffed and excited to see him.

file-77.jpg

He couldn't stay long as he had to join in the pirate festivities, so we let him to it.

file-78.jpg

We had heard previously that this particular Stitch was very naughty and one time had pressed all the buttons in the elevator. As we walked past the elevator he was in I told him not to press any buttons now (his fingers were hovering naughtily over them) and he jumped in surprise bless him

After our exciting encounter we went back to our room and waited for the fireworks to start. We don't have any photos, but we do have video which I shall try and upload when I can :)

All in all not a bad day was had. We encountered sealions, went to a new place we have never been before and got to meet Pirate Stitchy :teeth:

You ready for more? :teeth:

Saturday September 17th
Today was the best day ever from the cruise and the most memorable that even now it makes me grin like a Cheshire Cat :ccat:

We had finally arrived at Castaway Cay. We had two excursions booked for the day and were up bright and early (again) and raring to go. We decided to try out Cabanas for breakfast and sit outside to soak in the surroundings.

Breakfast done with we went back to the room to get our things and head down for our first excursion which was parasailing. We had a few hiccups at first when we arrived, as we had to wait ages for the last couple of people to turn up. But turn up they did and off we went. Again, we have no photos, but we do have video.

I wasn't sure about doing this at first, but it is amazing and I cannot wait to do it again. Going up is so cool and you go higher and higher until you think, ok how high is this going. The views are breathtaking and the feeling of being up there is so peaceful. There was one point where I got a little freaked out and that was when we reached a point where we weren't moving at all. It felt like we might drop at any moment it was that still, however, there was plenty of air in the chute to keep us afloat, lol. Coming down was fun too, we weren't sure about being dipped as for some reason we thought it would be cold, but cold it was not was lovely and warm.

We headed back after everyone had had their turn and said our goodbyes. We had left our bags in our room as we didn't want to haul them out on the boat with us. On the way Dave decided he want to try the Aquaduck (we hadn't even been on it at this point) so on we went, line wasn't that bad either. We got absolutely soaked and had to change, which was annoying as it was later than I would have liked to start our second excursion.

We finally made it out and waited for the bus to take us to the adult part of the island. We found the cabana hut and checked it and were taken to our very own private cabana for the day. We were escorted there by our cabana attendant, Nilan, who drove us all 5 feet of the way.

We ventured out on to beach and chilled for a bit. Our bellies started to rumble after a while and we called Nilan to take us to get some food from the BBQ buffet (Cookies 2?). In the golf cart we hopped, all 10 feet of the way. Seriously if I had known we could have just walked, but Nilan was insistent that we walk nowhere, not even to the bathroom.

Lunch was delish, loves me some BBQ food.

After lunch Dave took the one of the rubber floats out and floated away.

file-129.jpg

file-130.jpg

file-131.jpg

file-132.jpg

file-133.jpg

Dave decided to venture out and see if he could find any wildlife. He got a bit caught up in conversation with someone he met out at sea

file-134.jpg

file-135.jpg

file-136.jpg

He finally made his way back, encountering a sting ray along the way and various other marine life. As I can't swim I was a bit skeptical about going out into the water, so Dave plonked me on the float and bless him pushed me out to sea to see the fishes. We managed to film some, was so much fun as they kept swimming near his feet and between his legs, which freaked him out a little, but was hilarious for me to watch.

All to soon the time came that we had to pack up and head back to the boat. Nilan kindly drove us back in his little golf cart, stopping along the way so we could run into the shop quickly to get some souvenirs. I don't know if you are supposed to get a ride back to the ship, but he kindly did so and we made it back in plenty of time. He was a lovely guy, very vibrant and outgoing, we made a note of his details and later on on debarkation day we left him a little tip and cast member note of appreciation.

On the drive back Dave took some pics of the beauty that is the Dream.

We also had a note from our hosts for dinner tonight.

file-146.jpg

file-147.jpg

We dolled ourselves up and set off across the ship. One thing that we have negative wise is the location of Remy and Palo is not in the best location if you are at the front of the ship. We were running late (as I was having wardrobe difficulties) and we had to rush to get there, winding through the lower corridors (in heels) which wasn't fun.
