How accurate are the measuring sticks?

Our seven year old son is a really little, bitty guy (he's not even 40 pounds yet, he wears size 4T clothes, etc.)...really tiny. Anyway, he was super set on riding Indiana Jones on our last trip, and I kept warning him that he was right at height (I think it's 46"?), and so not to get his hopes up.

We rode it a ton of times, but every single time he rode it, he was measured three times. This happened on other rides too, and I really appreciated their attempt to make sure that it was safe for him to ride the rides.

I know that it's disappointing to miss out on certain things because of age, but I can't imagine a situation where it would be worth risking it. I'm a total nervous nelly though.

Thanks for the advice. While I know he *is* tall enough I will let him know that he might not be so he's not disappointed. He's wearing normal tennis shoes, I can't imagine buying him anything thicker to wear without him looking kind of silly or feeling uncomfortable. I'll probably put him in his thickest socks, cross my fingers and call it a day! Hopefully he will at least make it on Splash Mountain as he asks about it almost daily.

Good news is we are going back in September to visit Cars Land, so worse case scenario he'll certainly be more than tall enough then :)

Thanks again for the help.

Great approach --- especially with a 2nd visit right around the corner. :)

Just wanted to update that he was easily able to get on all the 40' rides. He was triple checked on Star Tours but other than that he was usually just measured once. I think it also helped that we made him get measured each time-the cast members knew we knew he was borderline and I think it made them respect that we weren't trying to get past them quickly :)

All your exactly 40 inchers out there should have hope!
