How about pictures of alcoholic drinks?

Okay, we will be at the BWI in August and this is our DS's first trip as a 21 year old. Needless to say--he is very interested in all my research on this thread. :thumbsup2 So what is a Rollercoaster? I don't want to deprive my son of a unique Disney experience.:rotfl: Plus I will gain unbelievable cool Mom points if I know about an adult beverage that is not even on the menu! See, what a good parent I am!:rotfl2:

I too am very interested in knowing about this Rollercoaster ... sounds intriguing. My daughter will be turning 19 during our trip, which is legal drinking age here but still 2 years shy of the mark in Florida. A fact which has her nose severely out of joint. :headache: :rotfl2: I intend to try these various alcoholic beverages merely in the interest of research, so I can offer some sage, wise advice on selection when we return to celebrate her 21st birthday. :rolleyes1

See, another good mother doing hard work researching these beverages for our children. A Mom's just keeps on going.....:rotfl2:

Okay - sounds simple - it's basically a frozen Pina Colada with a dark rum floater on the top ........ well, we've asked other bartenders at the world to make this concoction for us with no luck!!! :confused3 They make it, but it just ain't the same. I don't know what else there is to it, but Mike & Linda at the Boardwalk pool bar can hook you up!!! :thumbsup2

A similar version is over in Morroco ..... they have a quaint little stand for serving mixed drinks ...... they have a drink called something like a Sultan's Colada .... very smilar to the Rollercoaster ..... it's only like $7!!!

Amen Elitravelor! And we do it selflessly, don't we? I think it's safe to say there's no limit to the number of umbrella-drinks we are willing to consume in order to better guide our offspring! ;)

Hey everyone! Question for you all - does anyone know what is in the legendary Lapu or whatever it is called at the Poly? I really want one but don't want to take a sip and find out it has banana in it or anything icky!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

What is in a Lapu Lapu and what does it cost? It looks mighty big to me! Almost scarey for the adult beverage consumer that I am.

According to AllEarsNet.com: "Lapu Lapu - Tropical fruit juices and Myers dark rum served in a fresh pineapple topped with Bacardi 151 $12.75"

It is very good, and very costly! I think everyone should try it once. I would love to have it over and over again, but it does cost a lot!

Thanks for the description! Wow, I think I will plan to share so I can make it back to the BWI !:thumbsup2 What is everyone's favorite drink at the Poly?
So many choices!!

It's an OK drink but not really worth $12.75 in my opinion. Granted it's in a gutted out pineapple that Kona and Ohana normally would have otherwise thrown away and that's fun but there are better drinks to be had.

My favorite is their Mai Tai. It's a drink that's smooth going down so they can be dangerous! Also they're only $8 as opposed to the overpriced Lapu Lapu.

I had 2 Mai Tai's a few years back, and got sloshed, even after I ate something. I remember riding the Monorail and yelling into my cell phone at my DD and telling her and everyone within ear shot, I was Looped on the Monorail!:scared1:

I think I will try the Mai Tai next time I'm at Poly.

I wonder if you can get a Lapu Lapu not in a pineapple and if it will be cheaper? Hehehehe! Like the drinks they serve at the pool bars, they come in a souvenier cup, but if you ask they will put it in a plastic cup instead and it saves you a couple of bucks! Oh yeah, that's a good tip!

Has anyone tried the back scratcher?

I agree that the Lapu Lapus are over priced. Good, but $$.

I like drinks somewhat on the sour side. Any recommendations?
