How about Ohana's at the Poly?

This was our first dining experience in WDW and was one of the best values for the money. The food was incredible and it just kept coming. My son loved the honey corriander chicken wings. The main course meats were shrimp, turkey, pork and steak served off of giant scewers. The food and the theming was great. and then to top it off with WISHES made it that much more magical. The final bill for the 2 of us was around 60 dollars and that included 10 dollars of adult beverages for me.

We were seated at 8:30 and wishes was at 10. the timing was perfect we were enjoying the pineaplle and carmel as we watched wishes.

The dress was very casual. In fact my son and I both wore Hawiian (sp?) shirts and we fit right in.

This will become a tradition for us everytime we visit.

O'Hana's is the best. We go every trip. They do coconut races and the hoola-hoop for the kids. For the coconut races, the kids push a coconut around the restaurant with a small broom. They do have an alternate menu for picky little ones, just ask your server. Make sure you save room for the extra yummy pineapple and warm caramel sauce dessert.

We're planning an Ohana dinner for our October trip, and have been wondering about my younger daughters eating what the rest of us will eat. I'm interested in the alternate menu you mentioned. What is on it? And does it cost the same as the kid's Ohana meal? I'm worried about spending $12 for a PBJ! :scared1:

We have been to 'Ohanas twice and WE LOVE IT!! It's our favorite, must-do meal every time we go. My DS5 even picks it as his first choice of where to eat. The first time we only saw the coconut race, but the second time we were there for the hula hoop contest and coconut race. My DD loved them both, although my DS was too shy to participate. Make sure the kids line up at the end of the coconut race and get their "prize" (a HANDFUL of gummi worms). Based on our experiences, they had these fun activities once every hour to 90 minutes.

The kids can order from a regular kids' menu - chicken strips, hot dogs, mac and cheese, PBJ - or from the adult menu. My kids always go for the kids' menu items and then eat a few bites of my meal. Maybe by the time they are teenagers they will be converted to eating off the regular menu!

Scheduling our meal to coincide with Wishes would be too late for us with little ones.

'Ohana also has a great character breakfast that features Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Chip and Dale. The kids loved that too, althought the service was a bit lacking on the day we went.

Ohana's............Automatic!

You gotta go. From the fireworks, to the menu, to the atmosphere, walking in/off the monorail, the greenery at the Poly, entertainment for the kids, view of the castle....the dipping sauces are the perfect touch. At least once every trip.

Yeah.....oh, yeah. Those of you who've been, you know.

I will be taking my God-daughter in early June. She has never been to WDW. She will be 15 and she is a vegetarian. Will there be things for her to eat at Ohana? I think that it sounds great, but I want to make sure that she enjoys it as well. Thanks! ::MickeyMo

O.K. I'm sold...........can someone please help with a time frame for my PS ressie. We will be there in August...............I would love to be able to see the fireworks from the resturant..........what do you suggest? Thanks in advance! :flower:

My experience is you get in within 15-20 min. after your ressie. Those that have ressies for times leading up to the fireworks often drag out there meal in order to see it. Therefore, I would probably make ressies for 45 min. before the fireworks, although it really is a guess when your talking about how long someone will take to eat.
