What can be done about multiple post on the same topic? Any time a newsworthy item happens, there becomes a multitude of the same post.

I always check prior to shooting out a "breaking news" item to make sure there aren't others.

If there are say more than 2 of the same topic, is it possible to combine all the threads..

Not really a lot Cindy. We try to keep it down but we don't want to get to the point of controlling every thread. While technically we can "combine" threads they end up really weird

We used to have a thread cutoff limit but we did away with that a while ago, now they can get as long as they want

I can probably speak for everyone at Humphreys Home and say, "Thank You" for that. FloridaCat started our thread and has since passed on to live permanently at the WL. It would have made us all VERY sad to not see his posts or his thread anymore!

BrerLizzie, I THINK I was the first person (besides Pete) to post. I know for sure I was there the first day, and I vaguely remember posting something about being the first to post. I was for sure within the first few.

I know my thread counts don't show it, but I've been here since the beginning.

Since there are so many members, and the DIs is so big, and with sponserships and all, will there ever be any "contests" like other boards do? Seems there are many loyal posters here, and I think a contest of some sort would be an awesome way to "give back".

I would imagine that the site does indeed make a nice profit.

No, I came along later. I was actually part of the "team" that started the Cruise board. That was the first board to have more than 1 moderator

We have run a few contests over the years, it's something we might look at again in the future but there are no solid plans that I know of
