Remember the glass is half empty, has a crack in it and is leaking fast

Your confused Judy.. I know you enjoy your role as a nurse..you thrive in being a doctors handmaiden and obeying their every wish....

You know carbs are the enemy

and I don't have a favorite, that would involve thinking nice thoughts about someone :)

sorry must have lost my head !

new motto: Most days it's not worth gnawing through the restraints.......

Hey Alex, when answering questions on this thread, can you quote the post you're answering so that we don't have to go back and find the question?

Folks are asking lots of really great questions here :)

Judy, you can take me out of the running for Alex's favorite moderator. I'm far too mean to him to be in the running :)

Karen

What a great and informative thread! I've no question to ask, but wanted to say I think's it a fantastic idea :)

Question for alex---

I want to add my ichat to the appropriate area--by no space for mac users--only yahoo, MSN, and yahoo--can this be done??

I have people that pm me for help on topics and I think this would be a good option for them--thanks

I also wanted to thank everyone involved in the boards--this is my favorite site on the web!!

:cool1:

I have wanted to know if it negatively affects the boards if I ask to have a thread I have posted completely deleted. I like to clean out my computer of things I don't use any more and I have thought that it would be good to ask to have old threads (that may not have gotten any or much of a response) deleted to make more "room" on the boards. But, would that be a problem with the software if there are "gaps" where items have been deleted...or...do you "refresh" the program once in awhile and deleting entire threads is ok?

Just a few questions........

Where do you think your sunny and optimistic nature came from nature or nuture?

Do you agree with me that Physicians are just the best people ever?

Have you ever met a carb you didn't like, I bet like me you live on pasta?

Do you agree with me that paramedics are really just glorified orderlies?

Don't you agree that real men drink white wine?

Alex, who is your favortie moderator ;)

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Good ones Judy!

Great Thread.

My question: What does "referal" mean in the public profile?

This has always made me curious!
Thanks,
tara

That lists how many people that you have referred to the DIS. When my dd registered, she listed me as the person who referred her to the boards, so I have one referral. Not that I think that in and of itself means anything.

DM slush has it right.. we don't really keep track of it right now but we do appreciate people refering their friends!

I can see if there is a hack, there is nothing for ichat built into the boards. I'm kind of doubting it. You could put it in your signature

Actually while I appreciate the thought we would prefer if people didn't ask to have old threads deleted. There are a number of reasons. First off somebody manually has to take the time to figure out why the person is asking, if it's allowed under the rules etc etc. If everyone started doing that we would have to take on about 50 new webmasters. It doesn't increase performance or really help anything they just roll off the back. I actually haven't pruned the boards back in a long time we have several years worth of posts. It also confuses posters, they may recieve an email that someone replied to a thread they posted on and when they go to look it's gone.

alex,

I think I am going to try the AIM sig--so if anyone wants to try--

ok-- I have added to AIM--we will see--

for people to know--ichat gets along with just about everyone except MSN!!

I think you will have to click on the third line from what I am seeing

Why is it there if you don't keep track of it?

The software we use is a "package" and I guess some places do keep track and use it so it's built into the package.

Hi Webmaster Alex. How are you today? Will you please give me a nifty colorful tag with flashy things on it? :grouphug:

alas, I have given up on the tag fairy. Fooey, I thought you were all-powerful. My illusions are shattered. :sad2:

Alex,

Thank you to you and the other moderators of the DIS boards. It is obvious that you are people of great patience and self-control. It must be hard not to jump in the middle of some of the threads.

You see the good and not so good side of many of us, yet allow us to vent our frustrations and spout our successes. I'm sure some of it must get tiring for you, but we so appreciate this wonderful outlet! It wouldn't be available to us without the efforts of those who moderate our posts.

Alex, do you know who the tag fairy is? yes/no answer is fine! :teeth:
