Housing/Roommate Question

I'm so confused, what happens if I chose an arrival date, and then I find a person or persons that I really want to live with but they have different arrival dates, am I not able to live with them at that point? I got accepted yesterday and I'm really trying to hold off on picking my arrival date because of this but the chances of me finding x amount of roommates before the 10 day period is slim to none. Help!

Hey Chelsea!

Your roommates must share the same arrival/departure dates, and several other details that are listed in the Roommate Matching. You do have an option to switch dates once, which I'd really use quite carefully.

I'd definitely recommend picking a date now that fits best for you before the 10 day period, as you'll most likely find quite a few gals that share the same date that you can room with! I wouldn't hold off at all, as some dates do fill up, and most will eventually.

Choose a date and the rest should fit into place.

So what was mentioned above is completely accurate. At check-in, you will be asked what your housing preference is (bedrooms/property preference). Based on that they will place you. The thing is, if you request a 3BR at Chatham, and the person behind you requests the same thing, more than likely you will be in the same apartment. There is a saying that is very true about the check in process..."if you don't like the people you're in line with, get out of line and wait a bit because more than likely you'll be living with them"

If you have friends, or have made arrangements with other people with the same arrival date, make sure you all check-in at the same time so you will be placed together.
