Could someone give me some information about housekeeping when you rent Vacation Club points and stay at a Villas. Is there any housekeeping during your stay? Is there a possibility (paying extra) to add extra housekeeping?

Thanks for any info!

That's interesting. We just got back from a week stay at VGC. There were 4 adults - 3 men/1 woman - in a 1 bedroom. So it has 2 full bathrooms. We were there for the Disneyland 1/2 marathon, and it was unusually hot in SoCal that week, so lots of showers were taken.

When it came time for the housekeeping service, they left our old towels and just stacked up a few fresh ones in the master bath; nothing in the second bath which was being used by 2 of the guys.

Biggest surprise was no new soap or shampoo. Now, most of our stays at VGC are for 3 nights or so, and we had just been there in July for 3 nights, so we really didn't know what to expect. We were lucky my wife was the only woman, and the 2 younger guys have military-style super short haircuts, because man, by the end of the week we were rationing the shampoo!

When we got back I went to the VGC page on the member site and saw this for housekeeping, which is a little different from what you found. But the difference is exactly what we noticed - no soap or shampoo, although I guess they could be considered bath amenities. And no mention of stuff for the dishwasher, although we only ran it once while we were there, so it wasn't an issue.

We had spent 9 nights at an OKW GV earlier this year with a party of 9 and I distinctly recall getting fresh soap and shampoo on the regular housekeeping schedule.

Does anyone know if VGC is under a different set of rules for what housekeeping will normally supply, because now I'm confused. Out of curiosity I looked at several of the different resort pages on the member we site and the wording IS different for some vs others. For example, Aulani also uses bath amenities but specifies they include soap and shampoo, but also doesn't mention dishwasher supplies, while most of the other resorts' pages do.

After years of staying at WDW as a DVC owner, Mousekeeping rarely does what they are suppose to do on T&T day of they show up at all.

Sometimes they leave a basket of towels and supplies outside the door, just inside the door, or on the table. Sometimes just the towels.

I will say that if we need something, they have always just handed it over without question and we have never been charged extra.

We didn't want to seem like we were asking for something that we s/b paying for, but we also didn't want to pay for a tiny bottle of shampoo. So we made do, and didn't even think about it afterward, until I saw this thread.

I think now maybe we just got a really busy mousekeeper who didn't have time to do the full service.

On the plus side, we were walking one night to the observation deck where you can watch WOC and passed two mousekeepers. We said Hi. They said Hi. Then they offered us chocolates like the ones regular hotel guests get at night. We felt sheepish, but they held out the bag until we took a few. That was quite nice.

Some housekeepers are lazy and don't do the full service they are supposed to provide. I usually hunt them down and tell them what they forgot (like soap, trash etc), and usually it gets done right away. We had several trips in one specific building at OKW where we never got soaps and shampoos on either T&T or the full cleaning day. I let it slide on the T&T day, but I called after the full cleaning day, and got service right away. I find if you call via the housekeeping line on the phone in your room, they get it done right away. I suspect they don't want the supervisors to see that they are slacking!;)
