DH and I are looking to possible rent points for the first time (wish we had the $$ to buy DVC, but that will be a couple years away..) but DH is not crazy about not having housekeeping everyday. I read that you can ask for extra housekeeping for a fee, does anyone know how much a regular room cleaning is per day? Thanks guys!! :cool1:

Here is a recent thread with the housekeeping charges at all DVC resorts.

You can arrange for additional service either at check-in or by calling housekeeping directly. The charges will be added to your statement.

Enjoy!

It depends on the room size.

For just trash and towel service (they do just what it says, replace towels and empty the trash) it is $10 per day regardless of room size.

For a full cleaning, it varies, from $25 for a studio to somewhere around $50 or $60 for a grand villa.

Of course, the rates are subject to change, but right now, that is the charge. :teeth: HTH!

Keep in mind DVC is a timeshare, it is not a hotel. Timeshares do not have daily housekeeping. In fact in most cases, timeshares like ones which have a fixed week somewhere, have no housekeeping at all for the entire stay. DVC does have either a trash/towel or full cleaning every 4th day, depending on your length of stay.

Tell DH that he can get full daily housekeeping if instead of purchasing DVC you just reserve villas through CRO. For cash reservations, daily housekeeping is included. For example, the cash rate at SSR goes from $269-$389/night for a Studio, up to $1100-$1540/night for a 3-B/R unit.

You can check rates here: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/resorts/resortRates?id=SaratogaSpringsResortRatesListingPage

We find we like the "no housekeeping" at DVC and other timeshares. I don't like to have to wait around for housekeeping or feel I can't go back to the room and take a nap because housekeeping might not have been there yet. I can leave my things out if I choose to, and I can make the bed as soon as I get out of it like or do at home. Of course, I can also choose to NOT make it if that is what I want to do. When we are at DVC, we look at it as our "home", and I just feel freer not having to worry about daily maids popping in and out. LOL, I sometimes wish hotels were that way! In fact, I have taken to making the bed in every hotel, just to assure they wont be spending a long time in my room!
