Hours of Operation?

So when is the campground open? Do they lock a gate?

We're probably going to arrive ~8pm on a Saturday night so do we need to make any special arrangements?

And how well lit are the sites for backing into at that time of night?!

I have heard of people arriving late, the sites are very, very dark. It would be wise to bring flashlights.

8 P.M. is not late for arriving at the Fort. Just pull up to the gate with your I.D. Some plug in a flood before backing in. Enjoy!

I recommend bringing 2 way radios as well. Even though DD is only 10 she has gotten pretty good at helping me backing in with a radio. We arrived last Friday around 9 p.m. and she was able to watch my blind side. I did hit a site # sign across from us and it did break off. Oops. The people on that site had one of those Haunted Mansion busts sitting by the road too. She came out to move it after I hit her sign lol. I found out they were $129 at the Trading Post so no wonder. Don't know how many of you have seen them, but they are nice but too much for me to just buy for the season. Anyway the radios save a lot of loud yelling and can come in handy for other times at WDW.
