Seeing as I have just found this web site I would like some advice on the best, cleanest, etc. hotels on International Drive. We have been before and stayed at Quality Inn International, Quality Inn Plaza (twice), and Best Western Plaza (twice), but would be grateful for any first hand info before we book for this year.

Ideally we want a hotel at the Convention Centre end. (Handy for golf shops, Walgreens, Mercado etc.)

Thanks ..............

The only hotel I have stayed at near the Convention centre is the link below, its 3 blocks away. It was the Sheraton world when we stayed there.
Not been for about 4 years but it was a decent hotel for a very good price. I was looking for hotel for this year the other day and it was coming up at £25/night but can't remember which site. Will try find it again if you are interested, just give me dates you are going.

Stayed at Homewood suites near Wet n Wild that was a great price at £22/night for a suite and breakfast incl, not seen it so cheap since.

Friends have stayed at Raddison Barcelo and If they go back again will use the same hotel you can usually pick up here at about £26-£30/night but I have never been so cant comment on what its like.
Hope this helps

Thanks very much. We fly out on 9th October and return on 31st. Having a few days at the Gulf coast but not sure which end..... start or finish. It depends on the Beach Boys dates at Epcot !!

Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you again.

We stayed at Hampton Inn (Convention Centre) Lovely base for our holiday.
Rooms were spotless, beds a dream, breakfast yummy and plentiful. The hotel is a stones throw from Bahama Breeze, Race Rock, Point orlando, Wonderworks etc. Very close to I Trolley Stops(both routes) Has excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. 30 pounds a night with Hotelopia (2 double beds). Pool is a bit basic but apart from that-great for the price

Don't remember which site for International plaza resort @ £25/night maybe its a not available so cheap for Oct, I don't know but found it at £29/night on www.hotelopia.co.uk (if you use a rebate site like rpoints.com they give 6% cashback with hotelopia, knocks another £1.74/night off, I used to give a referral link but Dis did not like it, I made a few pounds myself) If you book Direct with hotel its something silly like $159+tax/night, Hotelopia incl tax.

www.hotelsrus.com have the Barcelo at £26/night.

You really need to go to the hotel forum and search, see if anyone has stayed recently at these places. If not ask there for reviews.

Also do a general search on sites like http://www.travelsupermarket.com/travelmerge/travelsearch.aspx?package=5
they search a few sites and come up with some great deals sometimes.

Good luck

We stayed at the Sheraton Studio City in 2005 and loved it. It isn't at the convention center end but isn't in a noisy area (like near Wet n' Wild, it is further down) and we felt very safe due to the indoor corridors. I would definitely recommend it :)

Hi,

The best hotel I've stayed at is The Rosen Centre, which is next door to the convention centre. Its clean, smart, and all the staff from cleaners to front desk are so helpful and friendly.

We are going back to the Homewood Suites (ones nearest convention centre) on Internationl Drive for the 3rd time this year. It is right behind Bahama Breeze and TGI Fridays. 5 mins walk to Pointe Orlando and really hand for the I-Ride and Lynx buses. The rooms are 1 bedroom apartments with separate lounge/diner with small kitchen.

Staff are very friendly and there is transport to parks aswell.

We stayed in the Quality Inn Plaza the first time we went and we find the Homewood Suites far superior.

I have stayed in the following
Rodeway Inn International (x2)
Days Inn North
Best Western Movieland
Quality Inn Plaza

Best of the bunch in my opinion was the BWM but the Days Inn was the cheapest (and unfortunately it showed)......this time we through to heck with the cost and booked the Best Western Plaza (checked the reviews on tripadvisor and it seems fine ....but if anyone has any first hand experience this would be helpful).......
If you are only looking for a place to sleep then you can't go far wrong but I would check tripadvisor reviews first before booking

good hotel site is roomsnet.com, and midashotels.com - good value for advance booking and midas/roomsnet include all local taxes (excl room charge)

We have stayed at the Best Western Plaza a couple of times. It is a basic hotel - but handy for breakfast (Ponderosa is next door). Walgreens and golf shops only across the road (for anyone who is interested).

Not 4 star standard by any means but we quite liked it and plenty of parking areas.
