Hotels midtrip from NOLA to Florida

My family and I are driving to Disney for the first time. We are traveling from New Orleans and are looking for some advice on hotels in Florida. We want to drive half the distance and rest at a hotel. Any suggestions from our Louisiana friends on where to stay?

We have good friends that live in NOLA and drive to WDW regularly. Their usual routine is to drive to the Ocala area (well past the half-way mark) and then drive the remaining 2+ hours to Disney the next morning. They arrive well rested and ready to hit the parks.

You'll find lots of hotels right off the highway in Ocala. Stick with the brand-name chains and you'll be fine.
