Hotel to hotel?

I'm staying at the All Star Movies April 26 - May 6, I was wondering:

1) How do I get from my hotel to the Floridian for dinner?
2) If I'm at Animal Kingdom - how would I get to the Floridian?

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Hi marmatt and welcome. You can use Disney transportation. If it were me I would take the bus to TTC at Disney and then take the monorail over. If I were at AK I think you can take a bus directly from AK to GF. HTH and have fun!

From AK (or any park) you would just take the GF bus.

From your hotel, you would need to go to a park first, then get the GF bus. Some people find it better to just take a taxi from hotel to hotel. Especially for meals. My nephew and I ended up getting stuck on the monorail on our way to Chef Mickey's and were about 10-15 minutes late.

Thanks for your help. Do you think it would be expensive to take a taxi? I'm sure it would be a lot faster to take a taxi, do you have any idea how long it would take to go from AS Movies to the Floridian? Thanks again

Can't really remember, I want to say like $14. I do know that for my nephew and I to go from PO-FQ to CR, including tip, it wasn't more than $20.

Using Disney transport, personally, I would plan on leaving at least 90 minutes before. You'd have to take a bus to MK and if you just miss it, it's a 20 minute wait for the next one. Then, once you get there, you'll have to walk to the other side of the entrance to get the monorail. Then once on the monorail, you'll have to stop at CR, TTC, Poly, THEN the GF.

Much faster to go by taxi - direct route.

What you really want to do is try to avoid going from one resort to another. It's much easier if you plan on the nearest theme park first and then go to that resort. For example. for the Grand Floridian just be at the Magic Kingdom that part of the day. You can easily monorail or boat over from the MK entrance area.
From the AK you need the MK bus and then you can monorail or boat over.
We made the mistake on our first family trip of making dining reservations all over the place without regard to what park we were going to be in. We have since learned to schedule meals around our theme park schedule. Makes life a lot easier and saves a lot of time trying to get around.

We have an ADR for Cape May Cafe @ 8:00 am for the buffet...
We are staying at the CBR...
The morning that we have our ADR is an EMH's morning for MGM...
I figured an hour would be enough to get to point A from point B, even via point C... but now I'm not so sure... Plus I wonder if getting a bus from MGM to The Boardwalk area will be so easy... On top of that this ADR is for our last morning there... If we make it to the breakfast on time, will we make it back to CBR in time to check out @ 11?... Geez... wonder if I've spread us too thin for that last morning... I really would like our last breakfast to be a character breakfast, and Cape May seemed like a good one...

I will also add that we are going Sept. 10th - 16th...

You would have been better off that is wasn't morning EMH at MGM. YOu could have taken the MGM morning breakfast bus and told the driver you needed to get to the BC. He would have been able to drop you off right at the resort.

Now, you would need to take the MGM bus and then take the boat (or walk)to the BC. This will easily take at least an hour.

There's always Epcot... it's also right there, but doesn't have EMH's that day... Whichever one is quicker is the way we need to go... I just thought MGM would be quicker since it has EMH's that morning... If there is some breakfast bus running to Epcot that morning we'd do just as well to go that way I guess... but I don't think there is even one place open for breakfast at Epcot... sheesh

It's about a 15 minute cab ride, and you need to plan on $16-20 plus tip for a cab, one-way.

Take the bus to MGM, then either walk (about 20 minutes at a reasonable but not hectic pace) or take the boat (allow minimum 40 minutes). If you take the bus and then walk, an hour is more than enough time. There is no bus from MGM to the BW area from MGM. You should have no problem being back to CBR for check out, and you can always grab a cab back if time is getting short--plan on that being about a $10+ tip cab ride.

It won't work to take the bus to Epcot to be at the BC for 8:00am. From the front of Epcot to the Beach Club is a LONG walk, and they might not even let you through into the World Showcase unless you are staying at a Epcot resort. You would have to have park admission to cut through Epcot, and I'm assuming that you won't have that because it's your last day. There are no buses from Epcot to the BW area resorts.

WoW... you're kidding... no buses to BW from MGM or Epcot?!... What the heck... So let me see if I got this straight... No buses from Epcot, people just walk to BW... No buses from MGM, it's a boat instead... Then that settles it, MGM and the boat is the way to go... I'll just have to keep our fingers crossed on the time...

I can't remember where I just read this but Disney transportation starts running as early as 6:30 for those going to breakfast at a park, which this would also help if you were going to a resort close to the park, like MK. For example:You could take a bus to MK early in the morning and then monorail to GF.
I also verified this with CRO and they confirmed the same time as buses running.
