I would like to thank all of the people who post on this board. I used your imput to plan an impromptu trip to Orlando last week. My husband and I decided to jump into the car and drive to Orlando. We left Connecticut on Valentines Day and let hte storm chase us all the way down to Orlando.I had been trying to decide between 2 hotels in the downtown area, the Grovesnor and The Royal Plaza. Due to all the slendid reviews we stayed at the Royal Plaza. I used expedia and got a rate of 55.00 a night for a king room witht he patio on the pool. It was wonderful, the staff was great and very helpful.
We even extended our stay an extra two nights and had no problem.The rate on the expedia site was 72.0 a night but gave a 25% discount for 4 nights and over. We woild go back just to stay at the hotel.
While we were there we had a problem with our car, we dropped a window motor and the window would only stay closed. They found a local Jaguar Dearler and aranged for our car to be fixed in one day. They all went above and beyond the call of duty. Great staff, great pool, laundry facilities, good breakfast buffet. All in all pleased with the hotel. Thanks for all your help
On a less positive note we ahd to stay the first night at the Hyatt on 192 a huge spraling complex and it was terrible.Thank goodness it was only for one night or we probably would have driven back to connecticut in the blizzard.
