I know it's been done before, but could someone help with obtaining a complimentary upgrade at DL hotel? I was wondering how difficult it would be to upgrade to conceirge when we will be there in mid May. Thanks for your help.

I would call the hotel directly and ask for guest services. We were able to get an upgrade at GCH last year. I called 2 weeks before, kind of to confirm and ask a couple of questions. I told the CM how excited we were because it was our first Disney trip, and then very politely asked if it would be possible to request a free room upgrade. They will put your request in the computer so that it is noted when the rooms are assigned a week or so before. Of course, they can't guarantee anything, but they will try to accommodate you if possible. It helps to know what you had in mind-- a closer tower, a pool view, higher floor, etc. In our case, she told us that an upgrade meant a better view-- so we got a very nice view of the courtyard with the monorail running right by, and we could see the high fireworks over the roof of the opposite wing that faced DTD.

That said, I kind of doubt they will give you a free upgrade to concierge. Those rooms sell out quickly, and are quite a bit more expensive than the standard-- isn't it like, $100 a night? I don't think I've ever heard of getting free upgrades to access to the concierge lounge, even if they don't get a designated concierge room.
