My DH has a AAA membership but I do not. Can I use his card to book a ressie in my name if I present his card at check in? He will not be traveling with me. Just wondering since there is a discount at this particular hotel.
I would. In the many, many years I've been booking hotels with my AAA discount, I have never, ever been asked to produce the card. I always HAVE it, but they never ask for it.
I've only had to present the card a few times over the years. Sometimes I have to enter the number in when I make the ressie and that seems to be the end of it. I do always carry it with me just in case.

I would think if they questioned the difference in first names you'd be able to produce something that showed you had the same last names. I've been to enough places where they DO ask for the card, but we each have our own in our own names.
It is my understanding that if you are alone, without your husband present, you need to be a member of AAA in order to get the discount. How strict the hotel is, will be up to them.
I think you'll be fine, I have been asked but I can't imagine a hotel saying no if one spouse but not the other is present, just have the card with you.
