Hey, all! Looking for recommendations for moderately priced hotels within walking distance of DL. A friend of mine recommended Candy Cane Inn. Any other suggestions? TIA.

The portofino isnt bad. its the first hotel on the corner of harbor and katella. rates are ok, used to be much lower. seems like they raised them starting this year. if you book early enough, you can usually get a room for under 100/night

Park Vue Inn! Directly across the street and great breakfast! We loved it there!

There is a monorail station just outside the DL Hotel that will take you right to Tommorrowland

We were very happy at Best Western Park Place Inn (BWPPI) this past summer. It includes a simple breakfast. The location can't be beat. It is right across the street...wonderful for tired feet!

Seconded :thumbsup2

Stayed there for the first time in February; staying again in December. Loved being able to be in the Park in under 5 minutes.

:thumbsup2 We loved the Park Vue also!! They had the breakfast, lite dinner and free water bottles at the front desk. My kids liked the bunkbeds and we all loved how close we were to the parks!!:goodvibes

Our fav is of course the Candy Cane. LOVE IT! If we can't get in there, then it is the Carousel, Hojo's, Park Vue Inn or Fairfield (in that order.) All is dependent on price.

Carousel Inn and Suites! 5 minute walk to main gates :) There is also a mini mart right in the next hotel driveway entrance about 30 seconds away. Also a Quizno's on site and McD's to the right :) It may be a little noisy but get a room more to the back end (pool end) and that should solve that.

Red Lion. It's only one or two buildings down from Candy Cane Inn. There are routine discounts online bringing their rooms in around 70-75 dollars (often with breakfast and/or parking included) and the hotel is well themed and maintained with lots of dining options close by. :thumbsup2 Gave a full review in the Red Lion thread, floating around here somewhere.

Thanks, all! Keep the suggestions coming!

Nothing new but my top three would be.
Park Vue Inn
Best Western Park Place Inn
Candy Cane Inn.

If need something cheaper
Ramada Maingate

We have stayed at the Carousel Inn and Dessert Inn and Suites. I would stay at either one depending on cost. I believe Dessert Inn is a bit closer and cheaper. It has an indoor pool which is good in the winter. Breakfast room is small where as Carousel has one with a nice view of the park. We stay in a double room at the Dessert Inn when we go with my parents as it is 189 for two adjoining rooms with 2 Q in each room, a full bath in each, and a sitting room with a pull out sofa and 3rd tv. I'm not up for walking too far at the end of a day at the park so both of these are just off the walkway from the park. :)

We will be staying at the Dessert Inn and Suites Sept. 24-29. We have the C1 Suite with 4 Qs and 1.5 baths with a sitting area. It will be DH, myself, DDs ages 5, 8, 10, and 13 (16 and 18 year olds aren't coming:sad1:). I will let you know when we get back how it was. We got this for $99/night (of course it's more when you add parking, tax, resort fee, etc. but still feel like we got a great deal!!).
