Our flight leaves Orlando at 7AM on a Sunday morning. We will stay at WDW for a full day Saturday with our UPH, but I would like to stay overnight right by the airport. Any suggestions for a nice hotel at a reasonable rate? We are a family of five which can complicate things.
Also, would you return a rental car on Sat. night rather than have to deal with it in the early AM?

We have essentially the same situation for our family of 5. I decided to try priceline and got the Airport Marriott for $25. I also decided to turn in the rental car the evening before, which saved me some $$. If you try Priceline, put in 3* in the airport area. I started with a $25 bid for June 12, and it was accepted immediately. Then I decided to try the same strategy for our arrival night (we get in at 11:29 p.m.) and it was accepted too. So, I am saving at least $200 on lodging for those two nights of our vacation - more $$ to spend on meals and souvenirs. ;)

If you win your bid, call the hotel directly afterwards, and tell them you need two double beds, or whatever. The Marriott guaranteed me non-smoking, two beds, with no questions or problems.

Good luck!

The Marriot customer service at this hotel is exceptional.

They want your business and they let you know.

We used priceline for our rooms in January and were very pleased wth the Marriott.

Mom+4,

Do you mind telling me how to do this on Priceline? I went through the hotel section and chose 4 star hotel and it said I had no chance to get it and they suggested $229. I'm assuming I did it the wrong way! (As you can tell I've never used priceline before)

I saw the same thing the first time I tried, but stuck with my $25 bid just to see what would happen. I was very surprised, and ecstatic, when my bid was accepted. I learned a LOT from a website Biddingfortravel.com before I actually took the plunge and bid.

Good luck!

They lie, if you have the time to read the FAQ at bidding for travel Sheryl tells you to treat it is if it wasn't there. Even if you don't want to post at biddingfor travel you can get an idea from the posts of what a good bid is.
