So we are taking my Dad with us this trip. So two kids, DH and I. I was looking at Embassy Suites North as an option. Does this location have its own shuttle? Any recommendations with pros/cons. :thumbsup2

Broken record here, but we love the Homewood Suites in Garden Grove. It doesn't have it's own shuttle but it is on the ART with only 1 other stop. We leave in 3 days and I am going to post photos so everyone can see why we like it so much. :-)

If you are willing to stay in a "bargain" hotel - we often stay at the Desert Inn and Suites. They have an option of a room with 2 king (or queen, I am not sure) and then a parlour with a fold out bed. We like this because the parlour has a door you can shut. I have used it when taking going on vacation with my parents before. I think it is still a bit pricy, but just across the street from the pedestrian entrance. Not much to the hotel, just a place to rest your head after a fun day at the parks.

The Embassy Suites North is a nice hotel and has its own shuttle, but it is about six miles from the resort. You might try Embassy Suites South, which is much closer, or one of the other hotels named above.

I was about to go with PPH and squeeze us in (since the have the couch/bed option) and the fall offer rates were pretty good. But, ended up going with priceline and bidding. Booked two rooms at Crowne Plaza for $43/night + tax. :cool1:

The only place we stay at every time we (3-6 times a year) is the Embassy Suites in Garden Grove. They have an art bus every 20 mins with only 1 stop on the way there(no stops on the way home). Excellent location. Walking distance from target and the giant dollar store*cough*, and they have an absolutely outstanding and decently priced(and delicious) italian restaurant(Bucca de Beppo) in the parking lot of Embassy Suites.

HIGHLY recommend.

Great custom breakfast and they have free snacks and drinks(pop, juice) and a cash bar between 5:30-7:30 every evening.

I agree with Homewood Suties. We stayed there for the first time this past Sept 12-15. Not only do they offer a complimentary daily breakfast buffet, but the also have complimentary dinner mon-thurs nights along with beer and wine. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite that included 2 queen beds, one bathroom, a seperate living room with a queen sofa bed fold out, and full kitchen- minus an oven. Plus, free wi-fi!!
The staff there was very friendly and accomodating, allowing us an early check in on our arival date (saturday) at 12 noon, and late check out (tues.) at 1:30pm. There is also a pool, kiddie pool and spa, that were all practically abandoned when we visited. And the ART shuttle stop is just outside the hotels lobby entrance. Be advised, The first and last shuttles of the evening were super crowded!! as in standing bus only! <--and there is only one other hotel stop before Homewoods.

The hotel also shares a parking lot with Marriot Suites and Crown Plaza inn and some decent restaurants like Joe's Crab shack, Outback Steakhouse, and a *Pizza* place/sports bar. And a target just across the street :)

We're planning another trip in January, and will definitely be staying at the Homewood Suites..
Here are some pictures, keep in mind there were 4 adults and a 3-month old on this trip, we accumulated a lot...
