I was looking at the hotels located around Epcot, Double Tree specifically, and was wondering if anyone could offer any pros - cons of staying there. We really need a two room suite since we have 3 kids and I'm having a hard time finding any, which surprised me.

TIA

I also needed to add, I would REALLY prefer a hotel that offers shuttle service too please.

You may want to post on the transportation board too. Most people here don't have very good things to say about the shuttle service from offsite hotels. My personal experience with shuttle service wasn't great. They only had a few trips a day... they were very crowded, and stopped at a lot of hotels. It took about an hour to get home from MK... never again will I do that.

You might want to look into renting a condo or town home . You can stay very economically offsite. There are many choices if you'd consider renting a condo and renting a car. It is much more cost effective than a suite in a hotel. A recent poster stayed at a nearly brand new develop, Seven Dwarfs Lane for $499 for a 3 bedroom townhouse. Rates for that resort are running $69-$89 per night for a 3 bed/2bath place. You can take a cab for $40 r/t to Disney.... which is still less than staying at the Doubletree and you have way way more space.

If you really don't want to rent a car while you're there, you might consider staying onsite. At least you could use Magical Express to get the property from the airport. You can rent points from a DVC owner and stay at OKW or SS. Depends on the time of the year, but you can stay during the off season for about $170 in a one bedroom... which is huge and includes a jacuzzi tub. But that's for a Sun-Thur stay. Friday and Saturday night stays are pricey, up over $400 per night.

Good luck!

I would suggest checking out Cypress Pointe Resort thru www.hotelkingdom.com. It is very nice, close to the parks, and you can get a 3 bedroom unit for under $150.

If you would consider a condo close by, check out Windsor Hills. You can rent there very cheaply and it is very easy to get to the parks.

Hope this helps.

Looks like we're staying at the RP in Downtown Disney. Once we get there I guess we can ***** the walking situation to and from each park and see what will be best.

You guys are great and such a wealth of good info! I am soooo glad I found this board!
