Okay, yes, I am originally from the Chicago area but still need a hotel recommendation! We are going to the Cubs game next weekend and thought we'd make it a little getaway by spending the night in a hotel. Since I lived in the 'burbs, I obviously never needed a hotel! I am coming up with lots in Skokie and Rosemont. What do you think? Not sure what we'll do after the game. If we go with Skokie, we could go to Old Orchard and The Cheesecake Factory. So, any specific hotels or locations convenient to down town or Wrigleyville? Thanks!

Do you want the city nightlife or suburbs? there are tons of options around wrigley. Many within walking distance, or a short cab. Will you have a car?

If you choose a skokie hotel you could take the skokie swift/howard L to the game.

depending on when the game ends you could stop by navy pier or go see blueman group.

But, like you, having lived here my whole life, I've never really had the need to stay at a hotel. So I have no reviews there...

Yes, we will have a car and it is an early game so our evening will be free. City or suburb, we'd most like to shop and get some dinner. When we lived in the burbs, we'd take the train to the city on the weekends and shop. We live in Central IL now, so we haven't done that for awhile. I just hate driving around downtown and paying so much to park! I've seen Blueman bt dh hasn't. That's a great idea. He'd love it!

bmg has a nice dinner and show plan. we ate at an open air restaurant about 1/4 mile north of the show.
there is good shopping in that area I think, not sure how late the shops would be open on a weekend.
