Hotel help while driving

I know this may be on the wrong board, but I also know that everyone reads this board. I am driving from MS to Orlando. WE usually stop around Ocala, but because of a late start we will need to stop around Tallahassee. Now my question is this--where is a good place to stop? There are several places on North Monroe Street--but are these out of the way? We do not want to go far off the main road--I believe that we will be on I-10 Mapquest says to take Monroe Road into Tallahassee--I guess my question really is--will this take me out of the way--is it right off teh exit--will the hotels be hard to locate late at night, and finally will it be easy to get back to the main road? Thanks for the help.

We are traveling back to Texas on I-10. We are staying at the La Quinta Tallahassee North which is right off of I-10. We got it for around $62 with our AAA discount.

There is also a new Microtel Inn & Fairmont. The Ramada has recently redone their hotel and it is right next to a cracker barrel. The Holiday inn & Comfort INn are also on N. Monroe.

Do not stay at the Shoney's Inn it is terrible.

If you can make it to Lake City FL there is a Rodeway in that gives rooms for 48.00 after tax. We stayed there on our trip in March. It was clean and real close to I75. Id stay there again.

Stop at a rest area on I-10 in Florida and pick up the hotel discount directories (free). I think there are two. They have discount coupons in them. Major chains are included.
