Hotel before an Aulani stay?

If you were to stay a couple nights in the Waikiki Beach area before Aulani, what hotel would you recommend?

We had a great stay at the Embassy Suites just a few blocks from Waikiki Beach. The rates were affordable and we enjoyed the free happy hour drinks and breakfast. During our stay there we walked up to Dukes for dinner. We would definitely go back.

There are lots of hotels to chose from in Waikiki. Are you a member of any hotel loyalty program like Marriott or Hilton? If so, you might find good deals through their websites. We've stayed at a Sheraton right on the water, a Marriott just across the street from the beach and the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Would recommend any of those.
