I got the last Baby Alive at our TRU today. I also bought a Barbie guitar and a Little Tikes piano for my youngest DD4. I bought my oldest a computer. I don't know what to get DD7.

I'd recommend no. My son got some last June (he was 6 then) and he decided to see how it looked on his head for some strange reason. The stuff instantly bonded to his hair. He would up with a very, very short haircut.

I'm trying to get a Nintendo Wii. Sadly the preorders were sold out here like at dawn on the day they were taken.

Toys r us are rumored to start taking Preorders for the Nintendo wii on Friday October 27th.

Isnt the 29th a Sunday? I could wait in line to preorder on a Sunday, but I can't take of work on a Friday morning to preorder a Wii.

My daughter and Husband really want this, I hope that if we can't preorder, than they will have enough stock up until the holidays so everyone can get one.

My DS (13) wants this. However he has a Playstation 2, Nintendo DS, and a Game Cube at his grandma. Would you buy the Wii as well

Otherwise I've got to come up with another idea. All I know now is that he wants Kingdom of Hearts2, Star Wars (whatever number), oh and the Lego Mindstrom but $250 for a lego set??????????? Ouch!

My DD 11 wants an I-dog, computer of her own, cellphone, Bratz camcorder and games for her Nintendo DS. She hasn't mentioned Nintendo Wii? (sp?) With the wish for an I-dog came the wish for an I-pod..I don't even have one

I'm thinking of getting the Firefly phone, it's on sale for $59 and some change at Toysrus to start with and see how many times she'll forget it somewhere before getting a better one....It's hard to buy for DD, she's still a child but SO becoming the tween

My sister and our friend are going to get the Fisher Price Kid Tough Digi Cams for my dd and her ds for Christmas. We see them going on ebay for too much and haven't been able to find them. I was at Target yesterday and asked and they said they were sold out...with a look like I was an idiot for even asking.

Well, I go through toys and there is a whole shelf of them. $56.99 and they had a few red ones. The red ones are Target exclusives and come with a free 32 mg card! So, I got the two they needed. I think the Target red ones are the best deal for sure on them.

I saw a whole shelf of those beads that you iron together at JoAnn Fabrics yesterday. They were called "Pegboard". They had several kits (like around 20 different kits), but they also had big bags of the beads, etc.

Just an FYI for the person looking for the bead kits.

bought it from target for DD for xmas.. it was the first thing that she had asked for, so i had to make sure she had it... It was 19.95 at target... I got it over a month ago though

My DS wants both of these but I'm having doubts.

well our sons must have been separated at birth....those are both on ds's(12) list. I preordered the wii and am thinking about the mindstorm... I don't think I can swing it- (we have 4 children!) He will be doing this in school with Robotics(they ordered some of the pieces(the "mind" part not the lego part) My son is captain of the team and that is what is making me think this is a must get but holy lego blocks batman $250!!! I am hoping beyond hope for some lego coupon... got one last year so there is hope...We have the older mindstorm set from several years ago and it is really cool so I can just imagine how cool the new one is.

As for the mindstorm DS has wanted that ever since the Lego Store in DTD showed a "coming soon" sign clear back in May. Still I'm with you $250?????

Oh yes we have the Gamecube a PS2 and various other handheld devices.(psp, ds lite ect...) He fancies himself a video game collector. I told him collections only count if they go up in value! LOL But the Wii does look cool and I like to play Zelda(don't tell him that) so I figure the wii is actually a gift for me too!

Last year (boy, did that year go quick!), dd got her first AG doll, the Just Like Me doll. This year's popular duo is Molly and Emily--why buy one doll when you can buy two? (Great marketing strategy). Well, I bought dd the Molly doll, pre-ordered the dvd, and some accessories. I figure we can follow the story of her friend Emily coming to visit and buy the Emily doll later, perhaps the Easter Bunny could bring her? Meanwhile, we can be getting ready for Emily' visit, perhaps buy some furniture (probably knockoffs, that doll doesn't need better stuff than I have!). Well, its a way to have it now and later!

I'm also buying some AG knockoff clothes, I've found some websites and read they have some nice ones at Michaels. Anyone have any experience with the knockoff clothes--do they actually fit? The AG clothes are nice, but way too expensive for more than a few outfits.

Cnids00 - My dd 11 is the same. She is asking for a cell phone, but is getting Chat Now instead. They work up to 2 mile distance. All she needs for me to track her down in the neighborhood. She got a I-dog last year and played with it once or twice. It is sitting on her dresser. She and her brother, 8, are asking for Nintendo DS Lite.

Now it really sounds like they are twins. DS has about the same line up of game machines too. I'm not going to pre-order it as I'm not sure he's getting it I'll just have to wait and see as it gets closer.

I don't know if this helps anyone who wants a Wii, but EBGames (same as game stop, I think) told DH that although they sold out of their preorders, that was only for their initial shipment, and they expect to get deliveries weekly after that. I don't know if they will have a waiting list for them or not.

We decided not to get a Wii because we're having too much fun with our (I mean DS's) new gamecube!

We got the original Lego Star Wars and even our 3 year old can play a little. Great family game. A wireless controller was worth getting too, because it means mom & dad don't have to sit on the floor.

It looks like we will have to buy a new TV though. Ours just isn't big enough.

Update on Christmas gifts:

Me and DH went to Bestbuy the other day and they had the Virgin Mobile "Oyster" prepaid cell phone for 19.99..We bought it for DD 11 as a Christmas gift, I'm thinking of this one as a test-run to see if she won't loose it.

I can handle a mistake for $20 but still...just a test-run, also got her $20 of minutes, though I have no idea how long that amount lasts, it doesn't say it anywhere on the packaging.

I still wish for Disney's Mobile for her with the GPS system but I so don't want the plans to pay for every month.
