I remember that the time frame for being able to sit in the "Hot Seat" at Millionaire has changed.... so........ if anyone could give me info on how much time in between is needed before you are able to sit in the "Hot Seat" again I would appreciate the reply. Thanks to all who can assist here.... :flower:

I made the hotseat in May and the rule was 30 days. I just pulled up my signed sheet to look. My 30 days was up a couple of weeks ago.

im just trying to get there ONCE!!!!!!

My son got there last year. He said it was a lot of fun. He got to 32000 points. I love his pins. He also got a hat and a shirt that says Millionare. :flower: :sunny:

You have to be the first on the list (they "keep score" for each question for the audience responses) when they need a new contestant or fastest of the fastest finger question (depending on whether they are just starting or continuing from a previous contestant). I thought it had always been 30 days between appearances. ( A couple of years ago, I was lucky enough to make 5 trips one year and I made it into the hot seat on 4 of them!)

Wow! What's your secret? I've heard different opinions. Do you just enter something (just anything) really fast? Or do you actually try to answer the question correctly (and quickly)?

I've been in the Hot Seat twice. I never can seem to get the Fast Fingers question, but I have been the next one they pull from the audience. You must be not only 100% correct with your answers up to that point, but also the fastest responder in the room! Get one wrong and you'll never get into the Hot Seat for that round.
Good Luck all! :sunny:

PS Yes, 30 days is correct.

I don't have as much luck with the fastest finger - I always try to answer correctly, but it did work for me once (boy, was I surprised). The other times it has always been being at the top of the list and as was mentioned before, on that you need to be correct and fast.

I have only been to Millionare twice.... once a few years ago, and then once last month.

I was SO BUMMED when I was SECOND to get into the hot seat after the first contestant Lost!! When they showed the scores after 1000, I was third... so my heart was beating SO fast when they showed who was going up there....... so close!!

Congrats to those who made the Hot Seat... I know how hard it is to get there!

My mom made it into the Hot Seat when we went in Jan./Feb. She got up to 64,000 question, and phoned a complete stranger. My mom missed the question. She had to wait another 30 days before she could try again. I hope this helps.

I've been in the hot seat twice (I don't remember how far I got exactly, but the first time I got the pins and the hat, and the second time I got the pins, the hat, and the shirt)...

...Anyway, as far as I can tell, here's how you can win-- the scoring is done both by getting the answer in correctly, and getting it in first in time. As far as the fastest finger, the person who gets in a lot of the time didn't even pay attention to the question, and just luckily typed in the right combination really fast.

...I got in both times by being first on the list for the the follow up contestants-- First, you have to get all the answers right. Second, as they are reading the answers, if the answer comes up as a,b, or c, start pressing the correct button as fast as you can consecutively AS SOON as the correct answer is shown. If the correct answer is D, you have to know that when they show a,b, and c (process of elimination)-- start pressing the answer D as soon as they show C, because the clock starts as soon as they show the D answer (if you wait until they show the D answer to press the answer, you waited too long...)

Also, if you have smart kids, make sure they know-- I've never seen a young person in the hot seat (and don't have any kids myself), but I guess they give kids much easier questions then we adults get-- so, when you hear about winners, a lot of them are kids! The last time I was up, an 8 year old had won just the day before!

Hi, I'm new to the board and have some information that you might find helpful. First, all Hot Seat contestants get questions of roughly the same difficulty, though certainly any set of questions can be more in your knowledge area than another. The point is that even children get the same difficulty of questions.

However, if the contestant is under 10 years of age, they get to bring one of their parents down to assist them. The parent cannot give the host the answers, but the child can consult with the parent as much as they want, within the normal time constraints. That is how the 8 year old won the cruise in June.

I think your 8 year old is still the last one to win. At least that's what they said when I was just there. I got into the hot seat. (Couldn't believe it) I lost on the 16,000 point question. I got in by randomnly guessing on the fastest finger question. The next day we went back and I said I would just be nice and slow on the fastest finger. I was over 4 seconds, correct, and got in again!!! I had to decline and the next time we went I didn't even try!

:Pinkbounc Good tips! Love Millionaire and so far DM and I haven't had any luck getting in the hot seat, I think we've been too slow! Crossing fingers we get a chance on this trip! :wizard:
