English Muffin Pizza debate

Hmm, if I have one bagel, split apart and laying on the plate as two halves with cream cheese on both, it is still one bagel. But if I have one English muffin split in two and then with pizza sauce and cheese added, it is two pizza to me.

But if my kid gets the pizza launchable with 7 pizza rounds, sauce and cheese, it is one lunchable.

I agree. My 1 into 2 comment was specific to pizzas. šŸ˜‹

The kiss of death! This thread is destined for ten more pages.

Yeah, I'd never even heard of such a thing, but now I want one!

My Mother used to make these for us all the time...until this thread popped up I had forgotten all about them!

(don't get me started on her hot tuna sandwich w/ cheese though:crazy2::sad2:🤢

Our elementary school used to serve "pizza burgers" which consisted of hamburger buns (one half per pizza but you got two), a slice of yellow American cheese and a dollop of meat/pizza sauce, baked until the cheese melted. DH is insisting that I made that up but we went to different schools so how the heck would he know?

And if you're eating Bagel Bites, each one is a bagel bite. Not 2=one bagel bite, even though they are each half a bagel.

Errr what is that @easyas123 ? You can't just say something like HOT TUNA SANDWICH W/ CHEESE and walk away.

I never had casseroles as a kid so they were a fictional thing from 80's sitcoms in my world, I felt very neglected too to be honest. First meatloaf I was a bout 20 & it was good, mac and cheese in my 20's and that was good.

Fast forward to a few years back and I working as an adult in an elementary school and they have a potluck. I can't quite explain my delight when I saw a container marked Tuna Casserole, over the moon I tell ya to FINALLY try a bucket list item.

All I can say is it was not delightful.

So the sandwich....

Ok...so picture it. Piece of bread (white, obviously!) placed on a cookie sheet. My Mother then put tuna fish on the bread. Then topped with a piece of American cheese (again...white). Put in oven and broil till cheese is slightly browned and bubbling. Served to my father as us kids ran screaming from the kitchen, refusing to eat it.

Have I told you about my Father's specialty???? Dinty Moore beef stew with red wine in it.

Why wouldn’t they use mozzarella? You can find pizza burgers at every diner here (DH loves them) along with tuna melts. And grilled cheese (which isn’t weird either).

DH and I were just reminiscing about English muffin pizzas last night!

(BTW - 2 pizzas per 1 English muffin... each half is a whole pizza)

Oh Dear God. Did you actually get a burger or just the cheese and sauce?

How I or anyone else survived my elementary school's lunches is beyond me.

So wait, just plain tuna out of the can? No fixin' it up with some sort of Campbell's soup abracadabra?

oh the horror, I am smelling it in my mind and gagging a little, you have my deepest sympathy which is not a small thing. The previous holder of my deepest sympathy for food sadness was a person whose step-mother put ketchup on spaghetti and called it tomato sauce, you @easyas123 are the new champion in an unexpected food sadness upset.
