English Muffin Pizza debate

Yes, if I asked for two "English Muffin Pizzas" I would expect two circles of pizza, likely from one muffin. Of course, the bottoms are better than the tops, so two bottoms would be the ideal scenario.
OK, now you've got me doubting myself...the one thing in the world I thought I knew is delicious, carby bread products. Which side of an English Muffin is the top and which is the bottom?

Hmm, if I have one bagel, split apart and laying on the plate as two halves with cream cheese on both, it is still one bagel. But if I have one English muffin split in two and then with pizza sauce and cheese added, it is two pizza to me.

Nope! That doesn't work for me. I'd be asking where the other English muffin pizza is. :lmao:

If I asked for one English muffin pizza, I'd only get half of a split muffin? šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

And here in NYC where an English muffin pizza at a diner would probably be $6, I'd better get BOTH halves. šŸ«“ šŸ«“

I voted for 4 because I thought it meant 2 English Muffins which would mean 4 halves. Apparently I am wrong.

No, not wrong. Everyone else is wrong. ;) :duck:

We don't have English muffins b/c they have dairy.

But I do buy bagels. And if the kids want me to make them a pizza bagel, it's both sides for one request. So, 2 pizza bagels/English muffins would be 2 full bread items, thus 4 pieces.

Another person who got it right. :thumbsup2 :teeth:

Our elementary school used to serve "pizza burgers" which consisted of hamburger buns (one half per pizza but you got two), a slice of yellow American cheese and a dollop of meat/pizza sauce, baked until the cheese melted. DH is insisting that I made that up but we went to different schools so how the heck would he know?

Why wouldn’t they use mozzarella? You can find pizza burgers at every diner here (DH loves them) along with tuna melts. And grilled cheese (which isn’t weird either).

The pizza burgers I've seen actually a hamburger patty in them, topped with pizza sauce and cheese. China Mom didn't mention any hamburger patty, just the hamburger bun.

Well, when they're pre-split, tehre is usually a thinner side which is the top.

In the US with Thomas’ English Muffins there’s a definite top and bottom. The bottom is a bit bigger and flatter and this pizza maker accidentally serves herself two bottoms every time 🤣🤣🤣 🤣

An thank you to the majority of the sane folks that agree that if you ask for 2, you will be looking at 2 on your plate šŸ‘šŸ¤£

Look see that horrible skinny top? 🤣 Nobody wants that. If there’s a choice, you take two nice bottoms. 🤣🤣

Then what do you do with the leftover tops?

(don't get me started on her hot tuna sandwich w/ cheese though:crazy2::sad2:🤢
I love a tuna melt! The first Saturday we spent at home of our married life, I made my husband a tuna melt for lunch. He refused to even taste it. I haven't made him lunch on a Saturday for over 32 years! (And now he's retired and making his own lunch daily.) My kids loved tuna melts.

Anyway, I voted 2 as one english muffin makes two little pizzas.

The pizza burger at DLP was a burger with a pizza as the top bun.

4.

If I asked for 2 halves, that would be 1!

Hmm... This might be because I'm thinking in terms of how many muffins I'm getting out of the freezer.

This is deep for a Saturday. :rotfl:I like it!

( I think I have some wholemeal muffins tucked away in the freezer that need using. What should I use for toppings?)

I’m another vote for 2.
One English Muffin = 2 pizzas in my house.
Now I feel compelled to go buy English Muffins to make baby pizzas - LOL!

The top is the top until you flip it to put your yummiest choice on the new top. 🤣 You made me say yummiest darn you!!!

Tink, my friend, you are late to the party! Must be that time difference (except you are ahead lol) 🄰

Now you know how I feel about your food polls. Every single time I eat LIFE cereal I think of you!!

We use bagel thins and it’s pizza per bagel/serving not piece so two pieces would be one and four would be two. A bagel or English muffin splits into two pieces however the full bagel/muffin is considered one serving. Unless you’re buying those gigantic ones then that’s a whole other debate.

Serve the unwanted tops to my kids. :poop:

o_O Child abuse! They are going to be in therapy over this some day. :lmao:

Kid - now adult in the future: "My parent used to feed me only the muffin tops."

Therapist: "But, that's a good thing. The muffin tops are the best part of the muffin."

Kid - now adult in the future: "No, not these. They were the English muffin tops.

Therapist: <gasp!> o_O <starts scribbling on her pad furiously, shaking her head> We are going to need a lot of sessions. . ."

;) Just kidding. :teeth:

They were called pizza burgers but not all that close to pizzas. First off, it was American Cheese, not mozzarella, second the cheese was under the sauce not on top, and third, it was more like a sloppy joe mix than a pizza sauce. But, I didn't name 'em, I just ate 'em

Oh Dear God. Did you actually get a burger or just the cheese and sauce?

How I or anyone else survived my elementary school's lunches is beyond me.
No burger but there was meat in the tomato sauce - sorta like sloppy joe mix
