Hot Dog, Hot Dog, Hot Diggity Dog! LINK TO TRIP REPORT!!!

Looks like a great day in epcot you have planned! I love Epcot because it does give us a chance to breath and sleep in.

I will be anxious to hear what you get on the lunch menu at Le Cellier.... When we go next, I kinda want dh to try it since he has never been...but dinner being 2 ts credits now has me thinking maybe not...but...if lunch is still worth it... maybe we will try that.

Love your plans for day 6!!! :thumbsup2

And guess what, girl, we will be at the MK that evening too! We want to stay for MSEP and Wishes! So maybe we'll see you there. :woohoo:

Bringing Max will put a totally different perspective on the parks and "planning". It will be so much fun to hear about everything first hand - I really hope that we get rooms close to each other - that would be THE BEST!!!!!

32 more days! :yay: :yay:

2 more days and our tickers will change from months to weeks only!!!!! :cloud9:

I think it will be! :thumbsup2 I'm not the biggest steak eater in the world, I like it, don't love it, but they have sandwhich on the lunch menu that intrigues me and cheddar cheese soup???!!!! Yes, please. :rotfl:

As for rooms, it would be great. :thumbsup2 I requested Cabanas, I think 8A. Wherever Kathy stayed this year. :goodvibes

Magical Express tags!!!!!! Now that's what they look like! :rotfl2:
I am so glad they arrived today - a reminder of what's in store for both of us!! :cloud9:

We requested Cabanas too! We stayed there last year and loved the location. Hope we both get what we asked for and if not - who cares, we are on vacation! ;)

If Max feels up to it, it would be real fun to meet at the MK that day! We love to watch Wishes from Main Street, what about you?

Oh, and since you asked ....... it's 9.55pm here! :goodvibes

Yep, that's what they look like. DME is awesome. Love checking those bags curbside and then not worrying about them again until we get to Coronado Springs!

I agree...although I am hoping to be close to the Dig Site for Max's sake. Regardless of temperature, I know he's going to love the playground there. He's already rather impressed by all the pictures he's seen.

Hmmm...last year we saw Wishes once, from our table at Cali Grill! :lmao: So, yes, it would be quite nice to see it from Main St. And I have a feeling our dinner at Chef Mickey's will not be that lengthy, so we should make it for Wishes with time to spare. :thumbsup2

Oh, and I was just curious what the time difference was between there and here.

Your plans look great. 50 and sunny sounds great right now!

We tried CM for dinner and it was okay. We all found something to eat and the characters were very fun. Plus they have those cute little cheesecakes on the dessert table that are very good.

:banana::banana::banana:
ME tags! We always rent a car so we have never taken ME. Since it is looking more and more like my next trip will be without DH I will have to try it.

:banana::banana:ONE MORE MONTH!!!:banana::banana:

Hard to believe. Really hard to believe. I know people say it a lot on these boards, but this was a trip I wasn't sure would actually happen. Starting this PTR was a leap of faith, like making a wish, having a dream. When this all started, I wasn't sure when, with whom, or how. I was determined to make it happen, though. And I would be lying if I didn't say that this pulled me through some dark, trying moments in the last several months. And, trust me, there have been plenty of those.

But...in just thirty days...I will be back at the happiest place on earth. I remember thinking on my very first trip when I was eight or nine, wow, this really IS the happiest place on earth! And while I like to think that you can find that sort of happiness and joy anywhere...Disney certainly makes it much easier! :goodvibes

OK, enough for me waxing (somewhat) philosophic....

Since its almost eleven now, I"ll probably be in bed then, at CSR! :cool1: I will have had dinner with my son at his (and mine, too, actually, now that I think about it) very first character meal with Chip and Dale. Some mouse will be there, too, I guess. :lmao: Maybe a dog of some kind...

I cannot wait and I am truly getting more excited by the minute! It will be a busy, bustling month full of activity related to both real life and the trip.

So, I have a few questions that remain for you all, my more experienced Disfriends...

1. Do the busses to the parks start running early enough from the resorts to get to the parks for an early ADR at Crystal Palace?
2. What do you when you get to MK for an early, pre-park opening ADR? Just walk in?
3. What should I pack that I might not have already thought of?
4. What should we try not to miss in the parks?
5. What should I bring to the parks with me that I might not think of?

I would so appreciate any and all thoughts, answers, and tips!
:thumbsup2

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: ME tags!!

Thanks, Annmarie. Pinch me... am I dreaming? Is this really happening...oh, wait, yes, YES it is!!

Thanks! Can you believe they're predicting more snow for Friday? :scared1: I am forgetting what its like to work everyday. Crazy. Plus, we're going to be making some serious time up at the end of the year, when it is the most useless. :sad2: But this has been a highly unusual winter.

We loved ME. Checked our bags curbside at Bradley and didn't see them again until we got to CSR. Still can't quite fathom that one. We actually like Disney transportation. :confused3 Maybe we're crazy...but I can't wait to hear the announcer on the bus say, "This is Disney's Coronado Springs Resort..." each and every time the bus comes back home from the parks. :lovestruc I love that for some strange reason.

1. Do the busses to the parks start running early enough from the resorts to get to the parks for an early ADR at Crystal Palace? Yes, they usually start running by 7

2. What do you when you get to MK for an early, pre-park opening ADR? Just walk in? Usually there is a special entrance all the way to the right for ppl with ADRs. They check your ressie # and name to their list.

3. What should I pack that I might not have already thought of? I missed your list but I would say pack a few ponchos in your park bag. A $.99 poncho keeps you as dry as a $10 Disney poncho. Plus if you are bringing a stroller, opening a poncho up on top keeps your bags, and son, dry! :lmao: Also bring sunscreen!

4. What should we try not to miss in the parks?

5. What should I bring to the parks with me that I might not think of?H2O bottles

We are flying out of MCO at 2:45, which I assume means we can sleep a little pack, have a late breakfast, and then be off...but perhaps I'm not being visionary enough about my final moments at Disney?

Ah man! Our flight lands just after 3:00, we are BARELY going to miss each other. I'd totally go for a DIS meet in the airport even otherwise!

I think your last day plans are just fine. It's always nice to simply relax on a travel day. We have done that before, and we've also gotten up early and done a last minute MK stop - we like it both ways depending on what we are feeling.

And as far as potty-training goes, just try and be patient. We really thought Max was NEVER going to do it. Very similar to Henry, Max seemed terrified of going anywhere BUT his diaper. He would get very anxious when he had his diaper. And then, over Christmas, we just tried going without it and it finally happened! He's now doing both in the potty! :woohoo: We just need to ."
conquer the BIG toilet and we'll be set. It did help when we replaced his very stripped down training toilet with a Cars themed model that my mom found. It's red, converts into a stool, and when you "flush" it, a motor revs. Max thought it was cool and I think that made it easier for him to sit on it and get comfy and relaxed.

Thanks so much for all of your super thoughtful comments, Brooke. If we don't meet up this time, I hope we can arrange a Dismeet in the future. :goodvibes

This is encouraging. I've gotten tons of encouragement and advice lately. I think I am going to continue in my "lay off talking about it" for a while longer. Perhaps in a few months we will bring it up again and Joe can attempt to train him. I think Henry might like a new potty chair too. We just have a simple one from Ikea and it seems to be uncomfortable. Something cool with a flusher could be attractive. :scratchin

As most of you know, my dad had a procedure to remove the defibrillator implanted in his chest this past week. He is doing well, but the infection did spead into his heart and into his heart valves. Not a good thing. He's going to need at least four weeks of antibiotics before they'll re-implant him and that's provided his recovery goes as expected. While I feel bad that my father has a tough road ahead of him, I feel even worse for my mom, who will deal with being the primary caregiver in the situation. This also puts her ability to make the Disney trip into question, as well. Right now, we are taking one day at a time (I hate that phrase, but it is more than apt in this situation) and, hopefully, he'll be OK and my mom will make the trip. Thanks for the continued thoughts and prayers, everyone! :goodvibes

Prayers being said for him! I hope recovery goes well.

I'm thinking we'll bring along some of the Starbucks Via things, actually, as the coffee around much of Disney is just so terrible. And any other hints about where we can get a decent cup of coffee, feel free to share, please.

There are a few places to get a decent cup. Decent, not great. When you are in the parks there are some random coffee stands that serve Joffery's brand - and a few restaurants do as well (I know Biergarten has it). Joffery's is MUCH better than that Nescafe garbage. Cali Grille also has their own house blend which is decent.

We always bring coffee from home for the room.

1) Yep
2) There is a sign for ADRs, I think when we did CP in the AM it was all the way on the left. You can just go up to any CM and ask and they will point you in the right direction.
3) Hand sani and wipes!
4) The playgrounds for Max. They are incredible.

1. I was told on our last stay that they know who is going where for early ADRs (if you had your reservation linked to them) so they send buses out as early as needed to what ever resort you are at.
2. I think each park is different. I want to say AK had a cm with a clipboard ready to mark off our name. I think Mk has a "breakfast ADR" line..so I am not entirely sure
3. I also agree on the great tip for hand sanitizer and poncho's. Both will save you!
4. I agree regarding the play area. My dd loved the HISTK play area in DHS.
5. Someone mentioned water bottles... Keep in mind that ice water is given out for free. Some places are better than others in how the water is served and hence how it tastes..but I believe all are filtered. (since it all tastes better than the water fountains) We found that in Norway, they will add lemon to it. If you do bring water bottles, then packets of crystal light or something like that is nice to make it not "just" water.

Loving the plans for every day that you've got going there, Tina.

When we went to CP in September, the entrance was on the far right after you went through the turnstyles and they asked for our name and checked it on a list.

Got to love Mickey mail...even if it is only luggage tags. It's still MICKEY MAIL!!!!

Oh my goodness, I've missed several updates somehow. So I'll have to jump in here and then go back!

1. Do the busses to the parks start running early enough from the resorts to get to the parks for an early ADR at Crystal Palace? think you got the answer to this already but...yes.

2. What do you when you get to MK for an early, pre-park opening ADR? Just walk in? I've never done it and am sure someone has answered...but there is a system somehow that checks that you have a ressie I believe.

3. What should I pack that I might not have already thought of? Well, not sure what you've thought of but....superglue, a sharpie, safety pins, shout wipes, travel sized sunscreen, extra chapstick. Extra hats in case one gets lost. I'm sure you have more than one pair of shoes but...same thing in case one gives you issues, first aid kit (for blisters in particular), extra ziplocs. We pack coffee as we brew it in the room and Disney coffee is well...exactly that. :rotfl: I'm sure there are other things, I'll have to think!

4. What should we try not to miss in the parks? Gosh, that is SUCH an individual question. But enjoying the moment, realizing that you need to stop and enjoy it and rework plans if needed, is probably biggest for me. It changes each trip. I think for me, worrying less about what shouldn't be missed actually let me experience more. If that make sense.

5. What should I bring to the parks with me that I might not think of?
I try to travel as light as possible myself. But when I had a stroller I'd take more. Extra ziplocs, poncho's, sunscreen and blistex. While water bottles and misters are great...they can become heavy so just bear that in mind.

:scared1::scared1::scared1: Are you kidding me? This makes snow day number four for the year....and all four have been in the last two weeks. With MLK added in there, we've been off more than we've been in school... Part of me has to admit that I enjoy the time off, but it is so detrimental to our kid's learning time. It is horrible for them to to start and stop so many times! Especially middle school aged kids. Plus, we're going to have to make the days up somewhere, whether its during our April vacation or at the end of the year. And they're predicting another crazy storm for the middle of next week!!!!

Well, on the bright side...more time to Dis...more time with Max....and more time to pack for our trip!!!:banana::banana::banana: And how good is that warm weather going to feel? If current weather patterns hold, it looks like the weather should be nice when we're there. It even hit 80 the other day! :cool1: I have to keep reminding myself that a solid week in Florida that didn't hit 60 degrees was NOT normal. :lmao:

Hope everyone is having a supercalifragilistic day. (I've never tried to spell that before...how'd I do?)

Very exciting!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Thanks, Tim! I'm not sure how much Max comprehends how much closer we are, though he does enjoy doing his countdown calendar every morning.

I had not thought about using a poncho for Max's stroller. I was actually going to buy a stroller cover. So, thanks for that tip. :thumbsup2

Wow...that's commitment for you! :rotfl: Hadn't thought about a last stop at MK. That could work. You do ME, so you might know this...I assume we'd have to leave for MCO around noon, if our flight leaves at 2:45? Or would it be earlier? :confused3 It'll be nice to have that day as a wait-and-see day, because you're right... there are a lot of things we could do that morning. Also depends on early Max wakes up. He sleeps in at times. By sleeping in, I mean eight, but that's pretty late for a three year-old.

This is encouraging. I've gotten tons of encouragement and advice lately. I think I am going to continue in my "lay off talking about it" for a while longer. Thanks! I am hoping that all goes smoothly for my dear, saint of a mother. My dad isn't the easiest patient, to say the least. :headache:

I think we're going to do this, whether we bring those Via packets from Starbucks for iced coffee (which I greatly prefer...I actually don't love the taste of coffee, although I do prefer it stronger) or we just bring ground coffee to brew in those cute little coffee pots that remind me of the one I had in college! And the cappuccinos we had at Pepper Market last year weren't horrible.

I wouldn't have even thought about the playgrounds outside of the one at our resort were it not for Henry's adventures at them in your TR. :thumbsup2 And yes...wipes! Now that we're moving away from diapers, I'm so quick to forget how nice they are for all sorts of things. And I completely expect Max to have at least one accident while we're in the parks.... :rolleyes1

Your fourth point makes quite a bit of sense. I'm only concerned because, having read numerous other TRs at this point (wasn't so into the TR board before we went last time), I know that we missed an amazing number of things at DHS and AK. Having said that, I'm cool with whatever we see or don't see because, as far as I'm concerned, provided we can make it happen, I'm going to Disney for February break every year. :woohoo: And I know the trip is going to change and evolve every year that Max gets older and is into different things and can start riding even more rides. Knowing that you'll be back (and pretty soon, too!) makes it easier to take things slow. Plus, my husband wouldn't really have it any other way. :lmao:

Last year, when we went, I brought in a small bag to hold my phone and camera, basically and the lanyard around my neck for my KTW card and that was it! This year, we'll need changes of clothes for accidents and a whole slew of other Max-related things. Thankfully, we will have a slower and I got a beautiful backpack from LL Bean last year that will make an excellent park bag for all of that.

Nice tip on the extra ziplocs! :thumbsup2

Great to stash a camera in if you go on splash, hold ruined/wet clothes, all kinds of things!

Heidi (mryppns) has a great strategy. Pick three things per park. Three, and only three must do's that you feel you can't miss. That way your chances of success are really high and you aren't killing yourself to get them done.

I can't say I'm great at following that but...I think it's brilliant!

I'm a fan of cargo capri's...everything goes in my pockets when possible and I try to actually go bagless if I can. Doesn't always work and in the winter, really isn't practical as the weather changes so much during the day. For our Feb trip we'd load up a bag with jackets and then stick it in a locker. We needed it as we'd get there so late, we wouldn't be heading back to change for dinner as a general rule and it would cool down quite a bit. We obviously didn't need to do that on the August trip.
