Horseback riding & fishing advice

We have planned a trip to WDW in June to celebrate our daughter & sons birthday. There is nothing about the trip that is a surprise to them. My daughter has talked nonstop lately about wanting to go horseback riding and my son has recently become obsessed with fishing. After recently discovering that you can arrange for horseback riding and fishing excursions at WDW, we are thinking about doing these as a surprise on their birthdays. Does anyone have any tips or advice???

On both I'd say do the early morning excursions.

Wear some dark colored long pants on the trail ride you don't mind getting a little dirty. And closed toe shoes.

On the fishing, with an excursion they pretty much take care of everything. Bring a camera, use live bait over lures (MHO).

My husband & son in-law done the fishing. We bought a My Way packge before we came and a discount came with the package that they used. He did his fishing early in the morning from Contemporary (we didn't camp that yr)and fished in Bay lake. They went early in the morning. Afterwards everyone met them at the Contemporary for breakfast buffet at Chef Mickeys. Worked out great!

Sounds like your kids like the same sorts of things mine do.
Have you watched YouTube vids of the guided ride? It's pretty controlled and sedate, but that can be a good thing, depending on the kid...
And it's a good chunk out of an hour.
How much of a rider is she?

You'll love the horseback riding. I think the min. age is 10? I believe that was the age my DD realized she was old enough. It is very easy for beginners. Neither kids in my group had ever been on a horse and they were very comfortable. We also love the sea racers and canoes. You should give those a try too.
