What do you wear for Horse Back Riding at WDW ?

Sneakers ok ? Shorts & t-shirt ?
Do a shower after the 8:30 am ride and then hit the parks ?

Long pants or jeans are most comfortable when riding horses. Sneakers are okay but a shoe or boot with a heel is safer. (A shoe with heel will not allow a foot to get caught in a stirrup in the case of an accident.) Are helmets furnished for the riders? I would ask that specifically because I am a professional horse trainer and I never get on a horse without one.

The last time DD rode, she was told that open=toe shoes were not permitted. Must be a tennis shoe or boot or something like. The helmets were optional. But, if a parent signed for the child had to wear a helmet, then they had to wear it. She always wore jeans, but there were other people who had on shorts. Hope this helps!

I went a couple of years ago, first thing in the morning. I enjoyed going that early as it was a nice relaxing way to start the day. I then headed back to the room and showered, changed and then hit the parks. Long pants are much better than shorts.

We did the horseback riding last year. Long pants or jeans are definitely more appropriate than shorts. Sneakers are fine for shoes. It is only a gentle walking tour with 2 guides, but helmets are available.
