Horrible opening fares for SW

I wasn't able to book SW because of those fares. I was on at 6am and watched the best fares disappear as I switched airports for fares that were reasonable. I got Feb tickets for $112 each way, now they are in the $200s and up!

Not happy at all right now:furious:

And now, a day later I could really kick myself because I didn't check Providence's fares, and I could have gotten them for $200 round trip!!!! But I'm stuck with what I have b/c I can't cancel the other airline and get a credit on my cc. Live and learn the hard way.

MSP has $114, still, which shocked me. I was able to get $112 e/w for our March/April trip

We could only book our outbound trip because our return trips dates aren't open yet.

Lowest fare was $127/ticket, but we ended up going with $136/ticket for a better flight time. Not as good as I was hoping, but it sound like my prices were better than what you found.

I'm feeling the pain, but did it anyway. I knew they opened today and I completely forgot. I was up at 5am and could have been sitting on the computer. I'm so pissed at myself.

I booked all on points - so, my pocket isn't feeling the pinch. But, if I didn't have rewards with SW, this trip for 3 of us would have cost me over $2,100 in airfare. That would have killed the trip right there!

I will watch and I'm sure there will be some juggling and I may grab a lower fare in the future.....but really, how are families suppose to deal with this cost if they don't have reward accounts they can liquidate.

I suppose they don't take a trip they cannot afford.

Airlines are a profit making business. They will charge as much as they can as long as tickets are selling. Again, there are other airlines besides Southwest, often with lower fares.
