DD has seen on me on the Universal web site WAY too much lately. We are not planning on going to Universal until late 2007. Not getting into all the sad details but DD has had some rough events occur in her life lately, so I thought maybe I could least take the kids to City Walk for a meal and perhaps a movie this year while in FL just to give her a "taste" of universal anyway.

I have been on ebay considering bidding on some movie/meal passes and it looks like they all come with this:

TWO coupons for $7 in Universal Scrip with each 2-day/2-park admission

Can someone please explain to me what the above sentance means?

Thank you
Suzy V

this is the equivelant to disney dollars. basically you get 7 universal dollars when you use that coupon to buy tickets. don't purchase this coupon from ebay not worth the money

Thanks so much for the quick response and information.

If not ebay, where else could I locate these coupons at a decent price? :confused3

I don't think ebay will work out anyway. I have emailed two sellers about the possibility of shipping to Canada (they haven't gotten back to me yet) but both of their ebay listings state that the item ships just to the US.

Kim, why did you say it isnt worth it. To purchase on ebay?? I myself have to disagree. The only other option i know of OP is. You buy the entertainment book, and you will get the same coupons they are selling on ebay. I bought 2 entertainment books, when they were on sale for 7 plus 1 dollar ship. A total of 8 dollars per book. Last I checked the books 12 dollars.. The other two coupons I bought off of ebay. One for $6, the other $9. I think it worked out just as well. The only other option is to get lucky, and find someone who will gift a coupon to you. But those chances are slim. Some have said ask in craigslist. But, i never bothered. I think the meal and movie pass is a great deal for me. The way I look at it. I am paying my meal forward. Well, I wish you luck. Take care

The $7 scrip is not worth it as you can only redeem them if you buy full price tickets at the park. You can save a lot more money buying tickets online.

When are you planning on going?

Thanks everyone for the info. We will be in Orlando Dec 2006 but not planning on going to the Universal parks until sometime in 2007. But since we have never been to Universal before, me and DD have been getting pretty excited about it simply form reading this forum as well as going on the Universal site. We thought we would perhaps go to Citywalk during our 2006 holiday just to get a little '"taste" of Universal prior to our 2007 vacation there.

I looked at the entertainment book web site and it doesn't look like they are no longer selling the 2006 book.

I agree with this totally, but if you're still interested in that coupon, it's also in the 2007 book. In fact, I think it's actually $8 in that book. I have one that someone gave me that I don't need, and you're more than welcome to it.

Thank you so much for your generous offer, but since we are not planning on visiting any Universal theme parks until 2007, the scrip coupon is not needed. And as Phantom pointed out to me, it is less expensive to purchase the Univeral theme park tickets ahead on-line then at the gate.

Again thank you and have a marvelous trip in Dec!!!! :goodvibes

I have bought from ebay myself. I just ment the coupon in question was not worth buying there are better deals on line for tickets than using that coupon.

I posted this on Molly's thread, but thought it might help you too, so I just copied what I wrote there.

One other option (which I did), when you look on ebay, don't just look at the Meal and a Movie coupons. You can also look at the Entertainment Books. Just make sure you read the item description carefully, because some of the sellers are tearing out the Universal coupons and selling them separately.

In my case, I emailed them to specifically ask if all the Universal coupons were still in the book and would they be willing to adjust their shipping since that page was all that I wanted (telling them that they were more than welcome to relist the book if they wanted). I got a couple that way, and it was significantly cheaper than the prices for the Movie and a Meal coupon listings.

Good luck!
