Hi Everyone,

I hope you can help. My boyfriend and I are meeting my family for a quick trip, we're leaving on Friday and coming back on Tuesday. Its the first time we are going on a trip with my family, and boyfriend hasn't been to Disney since he was a kid (we're both 24). We have one table service meal planned each day, but I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of some good reviews and photos of the best counter service places.

We're both young and plan to go, go, go so I don't want to spend time on more than one sit down meal a day. I also don't want to eat burgers and chicken fingers the whole time. We're both very active and eat super healthy at home, so eating too much junk food (or salads made only of lettuce and dressing) will put us (especially boyfriend) in cranky/tired mode quickly - and I certainly don't want that on our first vacation with my family!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much!

Our favorite counter service restaurants are Sunshine Season in Epcot (great variety, the Goat Cheese and Beet Salad is excellent), Wofgang Puck Express in DTD (Butternut Squash Soup, salads and good pizzas, and Tangereine Cafe in Epcot (Schwarma Platters). Flametree Barbeque in AK is also good. Have fun!

Amandaks, you and your boyfriend sound just like me and my boyfriend. When we go to Disney we go, go, go. One table service is enough for us for one day too. When we went last year we did not want to eat burgers and fries every day. If I wanted that I would have stayed home! I tried to find some different places to eat. At Magic Kingdom, try Cosmic Rays. They have a good variety of foods including roasted chicken, salads, and ribs. Of course they have burgers and fries, but they have some different choices as well. In Animal Kingdom, there are not many choices. We ate at Flame Tree BBQ. They have bbq ribs, chicken, and pulled pork. It may not be the healthiest thing to eat, but it is better than the other QS options in that park. In Epcot, I would suggest either Sunshine Seasons or Tangerine Cafe. Sunshine Seasons is in the Land and offers a huge variety of foods and they all are pretty healthy. They have a really good grilled veggie sandwich and a turkey sandwich as well. Tangerine Cafe is in Morocco and offers a lot of great food choices, like chicken and lamb. In DHS, We ate at Backlot Express, they also have a good grilled veggie sandwich, but Starring Rolls is another great choice. We are going to try there this year. They offer great sandwiches. If you have time to go to DTD, try Earl of Sandiwch. They are great! Good luck with your trip planning!

There are good reviews on allears.net

Our favorite counter service locations are in the World Showcase. Allears also has menus for you to look over. Don't forget to look at some of the resort food courts. The Polynesian, for example, has some noodle bowls and sandwiches etc.

Here are my top CS picks for healthier eating:

EP: Sunshine Seasons
MK: Cosmic Ray's
DHS: Backlot Express (excellent grilled vegetable sandwich with a surprisingly yummy black bean salad--not many good food options period in this park!)
AK: Flame Tree BBQ
DTD: Wolfgang Puck Express

Enjoy your trip!

In MK, Columbia Harbor House also offers good, healthy choices. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I'm looking forward to trying these places.

Amanda
