Hoping for availability at BWV

Oct 8-13/14 for a 1 bedroom Boardwalk or standard view. Is it likely or should I give up and look for other dates? Also, should I consider certain days of the week? For example, arriving Sunday rather than Saturday.

This year or next? Standard views at BWV tend to be unavailable moments after the 11-month window opens during Food & Wine.

This year. Unfortunately, I can't find a 1 bedroom villa at any DVC resort on Disney property.

I would say there is very little chance of getting a BWV or BCV villa under the 11 month mark during F&W. That festival period has become so popular with DVC owners that it routinely fills all DVC resorts at WDW very quickly. Especially so for the Standard and Boardwalk view categories which are the first to fill up at any time of the year.

Your best bet would be to waitlist at SSR and/or OKW and hope that something opens up. Unfortunately, from about the beginning of October to the end of the year is a busy time for DVC reservations and 11 month booking is the best way to get it done. And at this point, the 7 month window has already been open for a month for your dates so there may be a number of waitlists from people who tried to book at 7 months and couldn't get what they wanted.

Good luck with securing a reservation. :)

I kind of figured but we need to reschedule our vacation which is currently booked at BWV Boardwalk view in May. I always book at the 11 month mark and have never had to reschedule so this is new to me.

October 9 is the Columbus Day Holiday and a fall break week for many southern schools.. It is one of the higher demand weeks of the year for DVC. You will have to be very lucky to get even part of your desired vacation for that week at the BWV.

Best to have a back up plan if you're set on going that week. As wnielsen1 posted, you may have luck getting something at CCV when booking opens on 4/26. If not, check the other DVC resorts that day (several times through out that day and the following couple of days). You may catch a cancellation from someone else who wants to try the newest DVC resort. Good luck!

SSR has full availability for that week. You could book that and wait list another resort if you don't want to stay there. Personally, we love SSR!

I'd say that your odds are better of getting hit by a meteor for Boardwalk View or Standard View. For Preferred View more along the lines of getting hit by lightening. Within the seven month window, during Food and Wine, five nights - the waitlist for those rooms is already arms length long.

You might get lucky and get one solo night.

Try for Copper Creek when booking opens up to all DVC members on 4/26.
But only a small portion of the resort is open for DVC points booking. They might be booked up by owners already.

Thanks for all of the replies. We decided to push back the date until Nov and will attend the Christmas party so everyone is happy. I didn't want to try to arrange a vacation around a date that may happen, especially since we have certain restaurants will like to frequent, etc.

Sorry to be the bearer, but I don't think you are going to have any better luck in November.
