Hope this # crunching helps someone else considering the Land/Sea Package

I have a land sea package booked for 12/1-12/8/05.
We are in a cat 9 and are staying at the POFQ. 3 days land/4 days sea. What tickets come with the package. What is it that I hear about a character breakfast on Sunday at AK and leaving from AK to go to port/

Thanks for your assistance.

I can't answer all your questions because I don't know when you booked, but here's what I can tell you:

I have the same package in a few weeks, and booked in January 2004. This means I have the old park hopper plus tickets. It depends on what ticket package they were featuring when you booked. If you booked recently, you probably have Magic Your Way, which is one day/one park and does not include the water parks, DisneyQuest, etc. -- I'm not sure if they add the park hopper option unless you pay for it. I suggest you ask your travel agent, or contact Disney Cruise Line to make sure you have what you want.

If you have booked transfers from Disney to Port Canaveral, you can opt to leave from the Animal Kingdom at 12 on your departure day (AK is the only park where the Disney cruise bus does a pickup, you can also still leave from your hotel). If you want to, you can also schedule Donald's Breakfastosaurus for that day, but you will have to pay for it. I have not yet decided whether to do the breakfast, it seems like a bit of a waste to me, since I'm about to eat all I want for free on the ship, and my ds isn't that into meeting the characters. As I understand it, if you leave from AK, they have a place to leave your carryon when you enter the park, and you get a priority seating ticket for the Festival of the Lion King show.

I hope that helps, some.

We are booked for a 3 night land/4 night sea package. I must be doing something wrong since ya'll have saved money doing the land/sea seperately. We are going April 27, 2006. We are booked in a cat 6 on the ship, reserved for the Poly and inclulded all passes. Total is $3715. If we were to do the cruise alone it would be $2775. Add the cost of the Poly @ $369/night for 3 nights = $1107. Seperately, that 's $167 more and doesn't even include our passes. Am I missing something here? I called AAA and they don't have any discounts to the Disney hotels and is it worth it to buy a passholder discount for hotel savings? I definately think $369/night is outrageous for a 3 star hotel. We paid less for a 5 star resort in Maui right on a beach! How do I get this hotel cost down and potentially save by doing this seperate?
Thanks!

I found the land/sea was cheaper, also because of the hotel cost. We are in a category 5, and staying at the BC. The only way I was able to cut our costs was to book our airfare separately. When I did that, I saved enough to book another night at the BC (so I don't waste Disney tickets on a travel day), and still save $200. When you do that, your package starts the next day, and you have a separate booking at your hotel. Plus, you decide when your flights are. It was a pretty easy choice for me. I think if you are staying in a mod or value hotel, it might be cheaper to book separately. My dh insists on a verandah, so we had to stay deluxe on land.
