I'm currently booked with category 3 seating. Has anyone had any luck with calling a couple of days before and upgrading to category 1 or 2 with cancellations?

I can't help but you should ALWAYS give it a try.

I was at WDW at Easter. I did not plan my Easter trip until two weeks prior. When I called WDW-DINE I had my list of things I wanted. I told the CM that I wanted to know everything she had for 7-10 April for HDDR. She said to me "wow, I have some for Easter. These must have been cancellations because I was just checking yesterday and they weren't available."

So people DO cancel HDDR. You might have a very good chance with that because it is not the *usual* ADR and if people aren't going to show, they will call.

I think you should call them every few days and check the status.

Like the other poster said, you can always try.

We actually had tier 3 seating when we went in Feb/March. It is balcony seating and there is only 1 row of tables right on the railing. We thought the seats were great, better than on the floor. You could see everything. The actors came up to balcony varied times during the show as to not leave any of us out.

Thanks for the responses! I'll probably keep the category 3 and maybe call a few days before to see if there is a cancellation for better seats. I've heard mixed reviews of some people liking the balcony, some not liking it. Thanks again!:)

I've got a Tier 1 reservation for January 16th at the 5pm show. This will be our first time at HDDR. What's the best way to get there from Pop Century and how much time should I allow ... assuming I catch the right busses.

I would take the bus to MK, then the boat to Fort Wilderness. Just ask the boat driver which stop to get off at b/c I think there are 2 stops near Fort Wilderness. I would give yourself 1 hour to get there just to be safe.

OR

You could take the bus to Epcot, then a bus to Fort Wilderness.

Option 1 with the boat would be more fun though..............
