This is booked 90days out correct? Is it hard to get? How are Cat2 seats? I assume they are accommodating with food allergies like the other places? We have never run into a problem before but i believe the dessert they offer is only strawberry shortcake and DH is allergic to strawberrys. Do you need a CC to book? Thanks! sorry for all the questions!

I am also allergic to strawberries and they have always been willing to bring me out some vanilla ice cream on a piece of shortcake or plain. As far as meal accomodations, just ask as soon as you are seated.

I can be hard to get for the early show but the late show isn't too bad. Cat II seating is fine....as close as three tables back from the stage. The Pioneer Hall players get out into the crowd pretty far back and interact with the guests.

You will need a credit card to book :)

Hope this helps!

Thanks for this post. I was wondering the same thing about the desserts as my DD is also allergic to strawberries. I had not met anyone else with this allergy, most people look at me crazy when I tell them she cannot have them.

We had category 2 seats there. It was fairly close to the stage. We were off to the side a little bit but we still had a good view. It is a great show. I don't know about allergies but they did bring my son some mac and cheese.

We had Category 2 seats and they were perfect! We had a totally unobstructed view upstairs.

I don't think there is a really bad seat in the houes

Has anyone requested a spot in the restaurant. I want cat 2 seating upstairs and not down below, has anyone had success doing this?

I agree that there's not a bad seat in the house. We usually do Cat 3 seating which is upstairs and on the sides and we always have a great view (the stools swivel for easy viewing).

Also, Hoop-Dee-Do (like everywhere in WDW) is great with allergies. I have celiac disease so I had to have special everything and they brought me a gluten-free brownie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Just let them know when you make the reservation, when you check in, and tell your server. They'll be happy to bring you something you can eat :banana::banana:

It seems currently that Hoop Doo Reservations are very easy to get - even a few days out

Sorry to hijack the thread with a teeny question!! It's just that I have a strawberry allergy too. Is this something that I can just tell the server before they bring dessert? Or do I HAVE to call and note it on my ADR? It's a mild allergy, I'm not going to go into shock or anything, but I'd rather not break out into hives on my vacation :)

you get seated just tell your server that you have an alergy to strawberries and see what they have to offer. I ask for the pound cake with vanilla ice cream!

We had category 2 seats and we were real close to the stage but off to the side(near kitchen entrance). I have Crohn's Disease so I had to ask for meal substitutions, just call ahead to tell them( I think it was 48 hours) and they can help you figure it out. If you wait until you are seated it is harder for them to help you.

how funny this got bumped back up lol.we never did book HDDR at 90days out and now the other day Dh says he wants to do it lol so im looking for an ADR everyday!

We just booked our ADRs for Oct. 17 and we got category 1 seats at the 9:30 show. We are on the DP so we were only supposed to be able to get the Cat 2 or 3 seats so we are pleased with the cat 1 seats although we will have to keep the kids up late that night to do it, we will have to book some nap time in the pm to accomodate our late night soiree. ;)

Sorta - we'll be there the 17th too but we're going to the 5:00 show and we are in the Cat 2 seating. I don't think my youngest would make it to 9:30. Enjoy the show!

We are going 8/10 at 9:30 and i was thinking of changing to the 9:30 show on Sun 8/9 and there is availability.

Thanks for the pic. This is my 4th time to Disney but it feels so new to me. I went with my family when I was 3 and then 6. At 6 I remember having a character meal but I don't remember most of it. Then I went to Disney on my senior class trip and we didn't do character meals or anything. This year my whole family is going and we are trying to figure out where to stay and what to do. What does category 2 seating mean exactly?

Thanks in advance,
Kelly
