We currently have a ps for Hoop dee do in October. After thinking about it for a while, I am not sure if we really should do this. For one thing this will be our most difficult ps to get to and it will take up half our day to get there, see the show, and get back. i know it is probably a fantastic show, but is it really worth missing half a day in a park somewhere and also using 2 credits on the dining plan.

Thanks for any opinions.

Don't know anything about the dining plan....how long will you be in Disney? We LOVE Hoop de Doo and think it is great fun for the whole family....BUT we do Disney twice a year so if we cut short a day at one of the parks its no big deal :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

If you've never done it.............it's really a lot of fun. If you have in the past and don't think the kid's are into it, then pass.

It's really not that hard to get there, especially from the MK. From the MK, there is a boat that will take you there. It's a very relaxing ride. Maybe 20 minutes or so. After the show, there are buses waiting there that will take you directly back to your resort. We love the Hoop De Doo. I think it is definitely worth the 2 credits. Its all you can eat, plus unlimited beer and sangria. I think your girls would really enjoy it.

We so look forward to the HDD! I'm too embarrassed to tell you how many times we've seen it. Food is not bad (chicken keeps getting better and better) but it's the corniness of the show we love. Guess we're easily amused. As far as transportation, is there any chance you could take a taxi, at least on the inbound trip?

So after the show the buses would take you back to your own hotel. For instance PoP century.

We have never been to the show before. I think I will keep my ps. It might be a nice break from the parks.

By the way we will be there 7 days.

One more question and please dont think I am stupid. What is sangria? Is it lilke a margarita?

I too would like to know how to get back to the resort. We are going to the late show. I assume just taking a bus to DTD and then back to the resort would work, but is there a better way??

No, the buses will be there to return you to your resort if you are staying at WDW. We did the late show and when we got out, a slew of CM's were standing outside to direct us to the right bus for our resort. There were probably 5-6 lined up right there by Pioneer Hall.

We did the HDD so much when the kids were young DH won't go anymore. BIL and his family are going to WDW with us at the end of the month. I talked them into going but we are either going to go to the Brown Derby for The Fantasmic Dinner package or Portobello's. I am still leaning towards Portobellos. BIL's family may want to go and wait in line to see Fantasmic another night and I don't want to go twice.

It is alot of fun! My ds(8) still talks about it (went in March)! The food is very good as is the show! The Sangria is great! I would say go for it! :rotfl:

We have been to HDD 7 times. It is a great family dinner show. I am smiling jus thinking about our last visit to HDD in April.

The comment about going to MK and taking the boat to Ft. Wilderness is right on. Pioneer Hall is ~200 yards right up the path from the boat dock.

The first thing out of our kids mouths when we tell them we are going to WDW is "are we going to HDD?". That about says it :earboy2:

Awesome! That makes it so much easier :)

We had reservations for HDDR on Sat, August 14, 2004. Naturally Hurricane Charley closed down the Fort Wilderness area for 2 days, so we had to reschedule. We did get new seats but they were on the upper level on the side. But, we still enjoyed the show!! My dd, then almost 11, loved it so much that she requested that we do it when we go back in Oct '06 when she turns 13!! So, we have our reservations all set for Oct 25, 2006 for her birthday dinner. We are going with another mom and her dd, who will turn 13 the day after that!!! Corny?? Yep, but it's a lot of fun.

We have done the show 3 times. Kelly - you can take the boat from the MK to FWC and back to MK if you prefer (if you are giong to 5 show, for example). If you prefer to go back to your resort, you can take a bus, but buses can be an issue there (as long as there are CM's around to direct you, I am sure you will be OK, but our only issue at HDD was trying to catch a bus after the last show). In my opinion, even if you want to go back to your resort....if the boat is still going between FWC and MK, take it back there and then catch a bus to your resort (unless the line is overhwhelming for the boat). You can also take a bus to the Contemporary and monorail to TTC or MK.....none of that can be done after the late show however. Buses only at that point.
Love the HDD. My teenage son still wants to go back after 3 times.

I think we took the boat from MK to Ft Wilderness (20 min) we had the 7:15 show which started half hour late......we saw the show took the boat back to Magic Kingdom went to the bus depot for POP.

Trip to HDDR in the rain: 20 min.
Extra waiting : half hour
Trip back full stomach: 20 min.
The expression on my son's face: Priceless :cloud9:

We always start our vacation with the HDD. The food is ok and my whole family just loves the show. On our last trip in June, one of the actors picked DH to interact with. She came down off the stage and sat on DH's lap and had him sing along. The kids and I laughed so hard, it was the highlight of our vacation! :rotfl: I think it is worth the trip.

Great post....lots of helpful info. Here's the big question: What kind of beer do they serve??? My husband is a microbrew kind of guy and bud and or miller lite will not go over well.....
