I have a question about handicapped seating at the Hoop de Doo.....Haven't been there in 6 years and on that previous visit, I remembered being seated in the back of the house, (Category 1 is where all handicapped seating is due to stairs). I was wondering is this where and the only handicapped accessible seating is in Cat 1, floor level? I ask for other family members like children who had a hard time seeing the last time. Thanks :thumbsup2

I would request front of house if paying for Category 1. I mean, really, you are paying for it, they need to offer equal access.

If you can transfer, it will make it a lot easier for them to accomodate this, but they should still have an option.

I don't know that requesting front of the house is an option. According to everything I've read, seats are assigned based on when you reserve. So if you are reserving shortly before the show, the only Category 1 seats left could be at the back of the room. There are also some Category 2 seats on the lower level.

Those back of the lower level seats are category 2, not category 1. Can mobility devices navigate between the tables on the lower level? They could certainly fit at the tables on the sides but those are also category 2. If I paid for category 1, I'd be ticked off to be seated at one of those back tables. I'd definitely research where they seat folks who can't transfer from their mobility devices who book category 1 before I paid the extra for that category.

I have always been seated front of the house at Hoop Dee Doo. I use a powered wheelchair and have a hearing loss so use interpretation. Never had a problem. Used to be the back of the house tables where higher that those in front and I could not sit there because of my height.

last time i did Hoop with an ECV had to enter thru Trails End to avoid the steps. also remember no handicapped parking at Hoop will have to use bus to get there even if driving to the Fort.
