This is my first post, so if I'm not following protocol please forgive me. I have been to Walt Disney World many times, but it has been about 10 years since we last saw HDDMR. I searched but didn't see a review.

My wife and I would like to take our kids to see HDDMR. I have a 16 year old daughter, and a 12 year old son, both of them love all things Disney.

Any thoughts or reviews of HDDMR?

:welcome: to the DIS!

We went to the Hoop this past January, and we all loved it! It's corny jokes, but they're funny and the food is awesome. You'll love it!

It was a great evening. We had A seats, on floor in the middle. The waitstaff was great...they sure know the drill moving the food along. The show was also very cute (Cornie) I was very surprised that I really enjoyed the food, fried chicken, bbq ribs mmm it was good. The sangria not so good one sip gave me a headache. The best had to be the strawberry shortcake at the end mmm. not to sweet with a great shortcake and lots of berries and cream.
The other nice part was I had never been to the campground area, aside from River Country as a kid. What a nice place to stay,, the campfire, the store, animals. It was a nice resort to see.
It could make a great day if you choose to horseback ride, Hoop de doo rvu, and chip and dale campfire sing along.
I was alittle disappointed that there were not any characters there or in the show. It wasn't a character meal. I should have figured that out. That was the only gripe I had. Even if it was just a quick meet n greet at the door.
If you have ever been to the Diamond Horseshoe @ MK it is very similar except better food.

We went in Jan. '05. I loved the show and my 5 yr old loved it, but my husband and my 13 yr old didn't find it funny. We all, however, agreed that the food was great. I esp. liked the sangrias.

We were at HDD in November of 2007 with my 12 year old nephew and we had a fantastic time! The food was good and very plentiful, we had a lot of laughs and he remembers this as one of the best parts of the trip!

WE took my DD(4) and my neice(17) and both really enjoyed the show. We had cat 3 seats upstairs that overlooked the stage. When I first made the ADR I thought we would be disappointed with the seats but it was all we could get. Boy, was I wrong the seats had a great view and I didn't have to worry if my DD could see over people's heads.
The food was good and you can get all you want.
My DD is very picky and the waitress offered to bring her just about anything so she would eat, which was really nice.

I say go and you'll have a good time.
Also depending on when you go they have free movies and a campfire.
