I checked out the menu for HDD and I have a few questions?

1 - The fried chicken...is this chicken on the bone or is it more like chicken strips?

2 - Can you request a different item not listed such as a hamburger? My picky DH does not eat chicken or ribs and would prefer a steak or at least a hamburger.

3 - I saw that there were 3 different times listed...which is the best time to go?

TIA,

Loralie

fried chicken on the bone

I saw that the wait staff for accomodating for other tables - ie the table next to ours had a young child and they brought him/her mashed potatoes. I would call disney dining and ask.

We went to the middle show, I completely misjudged travel time, we arrived more than 60 minutes early. (better than the hour late we were two days later for another dinner)

just watch out for the photo sellers - they forgot our table and arrived at ours the last 10 minutes of the show and he WOULDN'T LEAVE. even though I asked him to come back when it was over.

Thanks JaneH for the info...I would still like to hear if anybody has ever asked for a hamburger (or some other type of beef) and had success.

Thanks,

Lorlaie

Bumping. I recall reading other threads from those who have done this--tho I can't recall what the results were.
And the chicken (and the ribs) are actually pretty good!!

Officialy Disney says "kids may substitute Mac & cheese or a hot dog"

Unofficialy I have heard that if The Trail's End Restaurant [which shares the building with Pioneer Hall, home of the HDDR] is open that you can order something off of their menu.

If I eat at Trail's End for dinner, I wonder if I could request some of that strawberry shortcake from the Hoop De Doo.

When I called to confirm my ADRs, I asked about special request at the HDDR. The CM told me it would be no problem ordering a kid's pizza. She made a not on my ressie and told me to call the day before and to tell them again at the check-in podeum. She said that they do it all the time because they do not want to see anyone go hungry.

October 04 my son did not eat the chicken, so they brought him a pizza to eat. They are very accomodating like that. I would just ask.
