hoop de do

hopefully the bad buffet food gets thrown out at the end of the night.

We actually really enjoyed the food. :thumbsup2

Hoop De Doo does cost way too much Hoop De Dough...For as much as it cost to eat at HDDR a family can eat out 3 to 4 times at nice places somewhere else and probably have better food.

We really enjoyed the food, sangria and the entertainment.. Its rather pricey for a family, and as long as I've gone the show has basicly been the same but the show still has me laughing.

$300...for a family of 5:scared1:

a majority of Michigan families will not take home $300 a week........

TRUST ME- I know all about the Michigan ecomony....I'm not trying to be difficult here, but I don't understand why you are so upset about the HDDR in particular and the price. :confused3 I remember you've brought this up before here. LOTS of things at WDW are way overpriced...including many other dinner shows and restaurants. I was shocked when I priced out breakfast in Cinderella's Castle. Seemed like a lot of money for a family of 5. But for some people it's worth it. I think the park tickets are outrageous and I cringe everytime they raise the price. Even at FW the golf cart prices, the site prices, and the cost for bread or milk is over inflated, but that's just how it is.

To be fair it is that way at most destination places. Cedar Point is just as bad..the campsites there are $80 a night in the fall !! Even our local movie theater charges $3.25 for a normal size bottle of water !! :scared1: Prices everywhere are crazy, know what I mean ??

But we know this going in, it isn't a surprise. You have to know when you plan a vacation at WDW (no matter where you stay) it is going to cost more than it should. Am I happy that it costs $300 for my family for the HDDR, of course not. But I will pay it because we don't get down there often and my kids really want to see the show again. I would pay for Cinderella's Castle if they wanted to eat there, but happily they are not interested in getting up that early to go over there. :thumbsup2

$60 for an adult is a bit overpriced for bad buffet food.

This show is the same as it was 20 years ago, only the cast has changed. With that said, it is a regular part of our visit to Disney World every year. We have been to the Hoop 5 years in a row and I am sure we will go again in August. Yes, it is somewhat expensive, but to say it is just "bad buffett food" is somewhat disingenuous. If you were going there just to eat, I might agree, but the show, while corney, is very good and is well worth it. It is a great show that is entertaining to both adults and children.

Interesting...........I wonder how many of those going to the HDDR are blue collar families staying at the fort?????????

Most of the folks I saw this feb. seem to be coming from the docks....I assume they are staying at the higher income resorts......

We are blue collar from MI that stay yearly at the fort.......The hoop dee doo is just too "rich" for us.....:sad2:

I really don't see your point here. My family and I go to Disney regularly and while we have stayed in many of the resorts, including Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge, I find that the Grand Floridian is "too rich for my blood" and so I make other arrangements. I don't expect the rates of the Grand Floridian to be lowered to meet my budget and I don't complain about it. If you don't feel that this one particular dinner is in your budget then don't go, remember that there are many families out there that see any type of trip to Disney "too rich for their blood".:thumbsup2

Shannone, I have seen many of your posts on the IRV2 website.

Its a great family show.......

Unfortunately..... most families cannot afford it......at it's present pricing.....

I think this is one place Disney could "give" a little....

Maybe some day.......

Why are you quoting yourself?

We get the point, you think it's overpriced, I don't see the need to post it 100 times in this thread.

I guess all the families that cause it to be sold out months in advance have no problem affording it, as others have said, this is DISNEY we are talking about, nothing is cheap there, you know that going in.

In 10 years, it will probably cost a family of 5 $450 to review the hoop....then you'll be thinking..."I remember when ya could go to that corny show for only $300"

Walts way of thinking(according to 'Meet The Robinson's) is KEEP MOVING FORWARD.....forward rarely includes price reduction, unfortunately. Better go as much as ya can before they raise the price again.

Hey, here is another option! Go to youtube and search Hoop De Doo and there are several downloads of the entire show. Grab yourself a bucket of fried chicken and a case of Bud Lite, put on your Mickey Ears and enjoy!:happytv:

I think I stayed perfectly on topic to the original poster.........sorry if that offended you:hug:

I understand DISNEY bottom line.........But I can't help but notice the lack of Fort guests as opposed to other higher income resort guests that attend the HDDR ????

Again, I am missing your point. Every night there are several hundred people standing around waiting for the doors to open for each show (there are 2 shows each night). How in the world can you possibly determine from these hundreds of people how many of them are actually staying at Fort Wilderness? Are you making this assumption based on the fact that you see a lot of people getting off of the boats? To take this one step further, I would argue that there is no way Ft. Wilderness could support this type of dinner show based only on the people staying at Ft. Wilderness especially since many of the campers in Ft Wilderness are there for weeks at a time ( actually months at a time during the winter months) and would probably only attend once per visit. Do you not think that the Polynesian Luau is attended by people staying in resorts other than the Polynesian?

It appears that you are trying to make the case that the visiters at Ft. Wilderness Campground are of a lower income level than those people staying at other resorts. That may or may not be the case in certain situations, but based on the number of motor homes that I have seen there in the high six figure range, I would have to disagree with you. In fact, for a price of a premium campsite one could also stay at one of the value resorts on property. If you you don't think it in your budget than don't buy the ticket, but you should stop with the blanket assumptions about those of us that do enjoy this show.

I like that website...I wish it was a little busier though. I like RV.net too, but sometimes that board gets a little intense, lol.

I have to agree. I don't at all think that people staying at FW have a lower income than people staying at other resorts. AAMOF, we have friends who have "less money" than we do but go down and stay in deluxe resorts every year. That is how they choose to vacation. We CHOOSE to stay at FW...definitely NOT because it is cheaper but because it is MORE FUN !! :woohoo: I think it is very hard to tell what resort people are staying at just by watching people get off the boat. Don't most people staying at FW get on and off the boat at some point ?? :confused3
