Hi, we have decided to honeymoon on DCL Feb. 26, 2005 on the 7nt western caribbean cruise. I have cruised on DCL before (7nt eastern) and loved it.......however I was with friends. Is DCL also great for honeymooners or will we be better off on an island somewhere?

I went with my Boyfriend in May 2003 and we had a fantastic time. It wasn't a honeymoon (thankfully as we are now broken up) but we had a really good time. The time you are going is off season so it shouldn't be crazy crowded and you can arrange a lot of special things like:

1- romance escape package (you can book palo b4 you board plus couples massage).
2- have you stateroom decorated or bring something for the door
3- have Shirley at the Perfect Gift send a nice romantic honeymoon basket
4- arrange romantic and fun excursions.

Basically post wedding you are going to want to be pampered and who does it better than Disney!

Wife and I did a Disney Land/Sea package for our honeymoon back in June 2001 and we loved it so much we're actually doing it again this June. Worse part of the entire week was having to leave the ship on Sunday morning.

I wish you well!

We did a 7 night DCL cruise for our honeymoon and sat with three other newlywed couples all married within a week of each other! Then we did another for our second anniversary.

If I complete my course of study I'm working on by December, hubby has promised another DCL cruise then!!

You have all made me even more excited about our honeymoon! Just wondering..Is it possible to get a table for two at dinner?

Hi GWTW,

There were several honeymooners on the 2/28 Magic western and a few tables for two that I noticed at the early seating.

(Some of the honeymooners were wearing those cute bride and groom mouse ear hats....Awwwwww!)

There was a number of children (mine included!) at the early seating and I found the early seating interferred with our ability to enjoy some excursions.

Have a fantastic wedding and a magical honeymoon!

Kathy

PS -- I grew up in Massapequa, I live further out east now :)

Thanks for the info! I can't wait! Where in Massapequa did you live? When we find a house we will be moving out east too!

I lived in North Massapequa (SS Pkwy was at the end of my block - between 107 & Bway) and I attended Plainedge. How about you?

I now live in the Three Village area.

Back to the cruise: the weather for the Feb 28 was fantastic! Our dinner seating interferred with watching the sunset in KW -- there is a sunset cruise that I think might be romantic; perhaps someone on the board can give some details.

You must be getting very excited now that your wedding is less than a year away!

Kathy

Have a magical wedding and honeymoon! I can't wait to hear all about it!!!

Kathy--I live in off Broadway right by Lockhart Elementary School..south of Sunrise Hwy...It's a Small World!!!

I am so glad the weather in Feb is so nice! We are just worried that because we are flying in the morning of the cruise that there will be a snowstorm in NY and our flight will be delayed and we will miss the cruise.........but we are hoping for the best and getting trip insurance!
