Help me try to figure out where to go on our honeymoon....

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

Where would you go?

Went to Sandal's Nigril Jamaica, loved it!!!!

But now DH and I have found that cruising is our favorite way to vacation.

We went to Costa Rica.. .not too far from the states, affordable and gorgeous/ exotic....

we actually took three weeks( to be young and worry free)....... first we went to St Augustine for 3 days... than we went to Disney World for a week.... than we went to Maimi Beach for a few days... than hoped on a cruise from Miami that went to Key West, Playa del Carmen , Cancun and Cozumel.....

DH and I went to the Bahamas . It will be 20 years next month. Loved the Bahamas, hated the place we stayed. I trusted a travel agent and didn't do my own research.

DH and I travel alot now. We love Jamaica (Sandals Negril , Sandals Whitehouse) or last year we were in St. Lucia,,,beautiful.

For a really unforgettable honeymoon , you could go to Bora Bora. Thats my dream destination.

Caneel Bay Resort on St John...

What I love about the USVI's is that it's so easy to island hop so you can visit several different islands during one vacation, including the British Virgin Islands.

We went to Sandals Montego Bay. It was wonderful! We never left the resort. It was just what we needed to relax and spend time together.

Think about how active you would like to be on your honeymoon. We know lots of people who have done all-inclusives like we did. We also know people who toured Europe or went to Hawaii. We had been to Europe before we were married and knew that we didn't want to spend our honeymoon sightseeing. And even though we hadn't yet been to Hawaii when planning our honeymoon, we knew that would be more active than we wanted.
Now having been to Hawaii, I know we were right. We were non-stop activity when we visited Hawaii. We didn't know if we would be back and wanted to see as much as we could; we figured if we wanted to just sit on a beach we could do that closer to home. Same with Europe - we tried to see as much as we could while in a particular country. There are so many places to visit that we figure we won't go twice.

Now others look at trips to Europe or Hawaii as a once in a lifetime thing, and want to share that with their new spouse on their honeymoon. I guess it all circles back to what to you and your future spouse picture for yourselves?

Now, I don't think we'd go back to Jamaica these days because of the political climate, but we'd definitely do an all-inclusive again. Or hit any number of other islands in the Caribbean.

I know someone who went to Tahiti for their honeymoon. If we could afford it, we would love to do that - stay in a little hut over the beautiful clear water... ahhh...

You will have a wonderful time no matter what you choose! Congratulations on your upcoming marriage!

When are you getting married and how much money are you planning to spend? Do you want to be busy or relax? How old are you? Where have you been prior to this trip and what did you like or not like about it? Are you phycially active? Have you travelled together prior to this? How much time do you have for this trip?

We flew to Vancouver, spent four days sightseeing and then took an Alaskan Cruise where we ate gourmet, drank champagne in the hot tub and hiked and fished in the ports.

We got married on the first day of a cruise so the cruise was our honeymoon. After the cruise, we stayed a few extra days in Puerto Rico.

If I was getting married again, on land, and planning a honeymoon I would do one of three things.

A Cruise
Aruba
Italy

Not in that order! :-)

WDW. We also went back for our first anniversary this month. We didn't want to travel out of the country (once DH gets a passport he's work will most likely start sending him out of the country which we'd like to avoid). Plus we love Disney

My parents went to Hawaii.
I'm too young to get married, but I plan on honeymooning in Disney World.

I made the mistake of letting DH plan our honeymoon. We ended up going to northern MN to a resort, in the middle of winter. I wouldn't recommend that trip--summer yes, winter no. We have been married for over 20 years now so it wasn't a deal breaker or anything like that :lmao:.

We went to Sandals in St Lucia and while it was nice I wish we had done Hawaii like I originally wanted. Our travel agent talked us into a 'relaxing' honeymoon and we were a bit bored, lol. I wish we had taken the opportunity of being young and carefree to go somewhere more exciting like Hawaii or Europe. 16 years and 3 kids later, we don't have the time or the money to go on a trip like that.

DisneyWorld :thumbsup2 it was great.
we have been back every year to celebrate
