Honeymoon-Sweetheart Safari & Dreams Come True Package

Hi Everyone! I was wondering if anyone has experienced the Disney Sweetheart Safari or Dreams Come True Package for their Honeymoon experience?

If so, could you share what you thought of your experience. I am trying to figure out if it is something worthwhile to add to my Honeymoon Registry or just purchase for us to do. I thank you in advance for your reply.

Were you quoted a price for the packages? If you were, was it cheaper to pay for a package or was it cheaper to pay for a package's components individually?

For example, I have read that a Dreams Come True package consists of a candlelit massage at the GF spa, followed by dinner for two aboard the Grand 1 yacht. The cruise ends with dessert and a viewing of Wishes. I hope this information is correct (please verify the package components with Disney).

I don't have the GF's spa price list handy, but I do have the Grand 1's price list handy since I found it this evening on one of Disney's official websites:

"As many as 18 people can sail for $450 per hour plus tax, including charter fee, boat captain and deckhand. Dining service and private butler are available for additional fees."

Since that price is only for the cruise (and please note that there may be a minimum number of hours that need to be booked), you'd have to tack on approximately another $100 - $150 for a meal for two that includes dessert. So, take the price of the yacht and add it to the price of the meal, and then add that subtotal to the price of a couple's spa treatment. The grand total should help you determine how you should play this.

I haven't done a spa treatment (I'm too shy), but I have been a guest aboard the Grand 1 yacht for a fireworks cruise that included munchies & beverages (both soft & hard drinks). It really was a very lovely experience and I highly recommend it.

As to the Safari package, I have done a few of them over the years. Once as a concierge guest of the Animal Kingdom Lodge, once as a concierge guest of a Disney resort, and another time on a special VIP Tour that was designed especially for my family. Each of those tours were slightly different than the others, but all of them included a special ride on the Kilimanjaro Safaris. I would highly recommend a safari tour to anyone.

The tour that you mentioned supposedly includes dessert, so I would price out, for example, the current Wildlife Discovery Excursion and then tack on approximately $50 - $70 for dessert. That should at least help you determine whether or not it's more cost-effective to go with the package or to go with booking those items separately.

I haven't read of anyone doing those tours yet so this was the best that I could come up with in an attempt to help answer your question. I hope I haven't led you astray (that was not my intent). Again, try to sit down and price out the package components separately. Doing so will help you reach a decision.

Honey2741, you're welcome. Is there one package or the other that you are particularly interested in? If there is, then I could help you figure out which route to take since I've done many of the components, and even a little more (except for the spa treatment -- I'm a big weenie when it comes to allowing a stranger to touch me!), over the years.
