Hi there Peanut!
I'm not getting married, but will be honeymooning in Walt Disney World next September.
I think where you would want to stay is dependant on a two factors:
1.) location preference
2.) budget
1.) You have 4 options for location:
*Magic Kingdom Area
*Epcot Area
*Animal Kingdom Area
*Downtown Disney Area
I would say that each one has its own strengths and weaknesses. The Magic Kingdom Resorts, while providing easy access to each other and the Magic Kingdom, really aren't that convenient to too much else. They're also the most expensive resorts on property, except for the Wilderness Lodge. The Epcot Area resorts can't be beat for dining, entertainment, and theme park access. (Theme park access if you enjoy Epcot...) However, there's no direct access to the Epcot front gate. If you want to get to Future World, you have to walk all the way from the back of the park. The Animal Kingdom resorts are convenient to the Animal Kingdom, but not too much else. And the Downtown Disney resorts are similar in dining and entertainment options to the Epcot area resorts, although not nearly as convenient.
2.) Budget - do you want to stay in a deluxe? Or is a moderate more in your price range? Do you have anything that will get you a discount?
AAA? An annual pass? With the exception of the Animal Kingdom Lodge, all of the deluxes have some sort of "extra" transportation: either a monorail or boat Port Orleans also has a boat, but it only serves Downtown Disney.
If you're looking for a deluxe, I would probably stick with a monorail or an epcot resort, and my personal choice would be the Epcot area. I'm staying at the Beach Club because:
1.) dining options are incredible. We're a short walk from the World Showcase restaurants, as well as the Boardwalk restaurants, Swan and Dolphin restaurants, as well as the having the Yacht and Beach Club restaurants.
2.) We can walk to the Boardwalk and rent a surrey bike, or go to Jellyrolls, or the Atlantic Dance Hall, we can stroll over right before showtime to catch Illuminations......no shortage of entertainment options.
3.) The pool area at the Yacht & Beach Club resorts can't be beat from what I've heard. We're planning on a bit more resort time, so the pool was a consideration.
We were actually originally booked at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, but I switched to the Beach Club because there's just seemingly not enough at the Animal Kingdom Lodge to occupy us for 10 nights. If we were staying for a shorter time, I wouldn't have thought twice about it, but for 10 nights, I wanted a LOT more options.
Hope that my ramblings helped, at least somewhat!!
