Hey all,

We just got back from WDW a few weeks ago but my fiance and I have decided to head down there for our honeymoon in October. We have been living together for several years and are a bit older so we don't need a lot of house stuff for wedding presents. We decided that we are going to register for our honeymoon. (Apparently this is "the in thing" now).

Anyway, any suggestions for us as to how to go about this?

I know you can register for your honeymoon if you book your vacation through AAA, also www.theknot.com has something similar. If you're not a AAA member you could always join but it isn't required to book a vacation through them, I am and I always save ten times more money then the $70 annual membership. Plus you'd save on your Disney vacation. They give you cards to mail out to your guests in your shower invitations and then the guests call your agent and tell them how much they want to give. After that they mail the guest a card to give to you saying they contributed to your honeymoon fund. All you have to do is go to the agent and pay for the deposit. Then if people exceed the cost of the honeymoon they write you a check, and if they don't you pay the balance. I hope that helps! Happy planning!

I never did this... but a friend of mine did, and she went through a travel agent. She didnt need AAA. But, I am not sure exactly how it worked. You may want to call around to some travel agencies, if you dont want to but a membership to AAA.

Good Luck -

Me and my DH2B are in exactly the same situation. I've enlisted the help of my brother and we're going to build a honeymoon wedding list made up of things like a day at Magic Kingdom, and an evening watching Illuminations, breakfast with Mickey, and a night dancing at PI.

We're going to build a website where our guests can choose a present and then pay using their credit card (the monies will all go into a bank account) - we'll then put the funds towards the travel agents bill - well actually we'll pay off the credit card we used to pay the travel agent as we have to pay for the trip 8 weeks before we travel!

We figured that this way rather than people just giving us some money they can still buy us something - a memory that we can keep forever. And our thank you cards will then be - Dear Aunty Rose, thank you so much for our Trip to Animal Kingdom, the safari was amazing - we'll show you the pictures next time we see you... instead of thanks for the 40 quid we put it to good use! ;0)

We were actually thinking that since we are going to have to go to a lot of effort building a database and organising a shopping cart etc that we might start a little business and offer this service to others... what do you think, would we get any customers?

ps hope no one minds me posting this - not actually trying to sell anything - just a little research...

Try http://www.thehoneymoon.com

you can use it for trips you are planning anywhere. we set one up for our land and sea honeymoon to disney. you can make up your own options for gifts and then your guests can go to the site and purchase it. we did things like dinner at the california grill, massages on the cruise, etc... i haven't had my shower yet, so i don't know how popular it will be, but i think it is a neat idea.

hope this helps.

We set up our Disneymoon registry on www.thebigday.com
It's really easy to use and completely customizable, we even added pictures that's we've collected of the places we added onto the registry. We haven't had our shower yet, so no one has bought anything, but we've gotten compliments on how it looks so far. We added a direct link to our registry on our knot.com website, my bridesmaids will also give the link in our shower invitations, and my mom has been instructed to direct people to the website if they ask when they RSVP. Feel free to look at our registry if you want, just go to the website and type in either Keller or Smith for the last name, we're Staci Smith and Joshua Keller.
Hope this helps!

Okay, I'm a little confused by these. So, instead of wedding gifts, people can give you money online for a honeymoon? This is neat...hmmm...guess I'm gonna have to look into it :)

Thanks for the link. We are in the same situation as the first post but I'm going to show this to the wife to be.

wouldn't it be great if Disney had it's own way for us to register our honeymonons
